Hi. I will be moving back home to California within the next few months. While I've been away from California I've acquired most of the firearms that I've always wanted. I've figured out how to make most of them California legal so I can bring them back with me, but am having a hard time trying to figure out what to do with my underfolder AK.
Does anyone know if there is a way to fix the underfolder stock in the open position? Or would I be better off just selling it before I move back? Thanks. |

If the overall length is 30" or more with the stock folded, you only need to install a Raddlock magazine release and 10 round mag to be legal. If its under 30", add a permanently installed long muzzle device to bring it up to 30". |

DnRPK is correct. Although, if the OP is like me and finds extended barrels disgusting/fake cans discusting and then you can lock the stock.
I used to have an Underfolder though I don't know how the builder fixed the stock. What I would do is find a place that if blocked, wouldn't allow the stock to fold and drill it and install a screw. That way it is removable should you leave the state of California or decide you want an extended barrel/fake can. My builder welded it, but there is no reason to do that, too permanent. |

Thanks for the replies, and the welcome. It will be nice to be back home.
I think I'm going to go the route of trying to lock the stock open. It's a M70AB2 so it looks like I'm good according to the chart. It turns out the only rifle I won't be able to bring back with me will be my Bushmaster XM15. That's ok though, I'll just throw the upper on my Sun Devil lower. |
