| anyone planting a food plot this year? This year I'm going to try to plant a 1 acre plot in northern MN for deer, and I was wondering what you guys plant on your food plots. I will be getting the PH level of the dirty this spring so I know what to add and plant. |

not all of up north is sand. I have 120 acres in aitkin county and there is nary the sand there. all low wetland that drains poorly. not all of aitkin county is a wetland but i refer to it as a floating bog. LOLOL
I hate aitkin county, can't wait to get some land south of that. $$$ factors into the equation though....LOL |
| Rye is fairly inexpensive to plant. Oats work well but more money. Clover will come back every year provided the winter does'nt kill it. And skip the institute product, it is just Ladino Clover you can buy elsewhere for less. Dont forget to throw out some lime and fertilizer if you can afford it. If your thinking long term, apple trees work great for the deer cam! |
