Could somebody tell me what is needed to legally transfer (sell) rifle and handgun to another MI resident ?

Thanks

mkturtle:  Michigan law requires all handguns be inspected and registered by a legal resident in the city/township they reside.  Various police departments have some leeway in how they handle firearm transfers.  It's best to check with your local police department for this information.

Pretty much explains the FTF Rifle sales.

As for pistols, the buyer is required to either have a pruchase permit, which will be filled out and filed/mailed, or they need to be a CPL holder, in which case a RI-60 form will need to be filled out and mailed to the state.
