i recently had some work done on a colt 1991a1 by Tim at Benbow-Becks Locksmith in winston-salem on trade st. nice guy and he did good work, reasonable, i think. i was referred to him by the folks at Grandview Firearms Training Center. just thought i'd put a plug in for him. |

he test fired my compact colt after installing the full length recoil guide and spring from wilson combat. he said "boy, it sure flings the brass now." and it does! it used to throw them about 6-8 feet and its making a good 15 feet now! its a 24 lb. single spring that replaced the double spring and plug originally in the pistol. i hope its not hammering the frame and slide stop too much - i need to e-mail wilson and check on it from their perspective. |
