welcome,
i can't help you with shooting water jugs.
most places to shoot around HOU are gun ranges and they take a dim view of shooting anything but there $.75 targets.

MuRDoC,

From September to January you shoot at the range in Sam Houston National Forest.

It's closed now...and I think it's gonna be monitored pretty closely come September as they closed it due to the amount of trash left there by shooters in the past.

Welcome! I  recommend going to a shoot on someone's land if you want to shoot other than those .75 cent targets as 308wood said.  For example, I am going to bring all kinds of goodies to EricTheHun's farm shoot.  April 11-13th :)

The farm is just north of Crowell, in Foard county.  Thumbnail sketch would be 30-40 miles southeast of where the Pan Handle meets the Red River.  It's a pretty good haul from Houston, but there will be a few from Houston who make the drive.  The best way to get to know any of the board members is to attend one of the gatherings.  I have not met anyone from the Texas group who was not a pleasure to be around, even if their board persona would indicate otherwise.  In fact, meeting face to face puts a whole different light on the way you will read that persons posts from then on!

I'll be at the Hun Farm, and I hope to see you there!
