DONE  For the record you should be GIVEN paid advertiser status here in the Oregon HTF for passing on GREAT deals to the members here. Obviously you are NOT making much if any $$$$ from your sales to folks here, but rather getting people into the NFA thing AR15.com should realize what you do for this web site and make things right |

When I was a moderator and 1GUNRUNNER was staff this was something being pushed for. I would imagine it is still being pushed for. It's great to have a large selection of vendors and the guys who do wide region mail order business should pay a little more for advertising in my opinion. 1GUNRUNNER suggested something along the lines of a "hometown dealer" status for local dealers who do most of their business in a smaller region. I would expect something along those lines to show up with the next major site release but I have no visibility of the inner-workings any more and can't remember exactly what goatboy's last words were regarding this, nor do I know what the recent talks may include. In the mean time I think Pat does a damn good job of not trying to steal business from other vendors, paying advertisers or not. In fact I've seen him put in a good word for other local vendors. Up in the WA hometown forum we had someone who just couldn't get the hint that everything would be fine if he kept his advertising in IM and email. After he got banned a few times then we had to deal with a lot of others doing his advertising. Things were a little different then but still, let's not get Pat in any trouble here. I don't think the current Staff will say anything about recommending Pat for local business or even putting his info in your sig line. I only suggest a little discretion not that I think anyone will get carried away. Just my opinion, of course. |
