My next-door neighbor's house caught fire last night; she got out OK, and her kids weren't home at the time. Damage was extensive, and the siding melted off the house on the other side of her, as well.Thankfully, the prevailing winds carried the flame/heat/smoke away from our house, and the responding fire departments got the blaze under control in pretty short order. We were without power for about 14 hours, but everything is back on now. This is in the same neighborhood where the plane went into the retention pond last year. We've had an endless parade of folks driving down our court to gawk at the damage this morning. I could do without all the drama... |
Hey man...when I lived in Indy, I used be stationed at Company 9 (Now Station 884). We used to make runs in your area all the time! |
The lead ladder truck belonged to 884; we took the guys 4 dozen cookies this afternoon as our way of saying thanks for all their hard work. |
Would that be the station that is there right next to Ben Davis HS? If so, then you were with a great group of guys. |
They have a new Ladder Truck too from I've seen....looks pretty sharp.
BTW...I'm on an episode of COPS from a run I took from that firehouse.....There was a little girl that was struck by vehicle while riding her bike in the Marywood Trailer park.....just down 10th Street towward Raceway. Gosh....it's only been 7 years since I left, but it seems forever. I miss it. |
