So I've been getting closer and closer to retirement, and now I'm down to less than 2 years. I had always thought I would retire in cali or colo.
About a year and a half ago I came down with BRD and now there is no way in hell I would move to Komifornia. I like the gun laws in AZ and have been looking at retiring (starting a second career) in Lake Havasu City.

I wondered how things are there? Anyone here live there?

Thanks,

Gene

It's probably the hottest spot in Arizona in the summertime. It's also the hottest spot during spring break

You will need lots of air conditioning and a 27' hot rod boat.

Oh.

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought you were predicting how long before Arizona becomes a majority-Mexican, third-world province of Northern Mexico.

Happy coming retirement and viva Aztlan.

Yeah...it's super-hot, and we got mexican insurgents under every rock....you wouldn't like it here anyway. I'd go to CO...besides
We're full.

I think it would be a nice place. 3 or so hours from Vegas. Lots of ATV riding area's.  Tons of shooting spots.  The river. A hell of a fireworks show twice a year that lasts for 5 days.

Bahrain for 4 years?!  I only went there for some down time as it was MUCH more relaxed than Saudi Arabia when I lived at Khobar Towers.  I remember visiting the USO in Bahrain and taking a boat out to Dahr (Dar?) Island that was a man made island out in the Gulf and all it had on it was a Coconut Joe's bar or something like that...awesome snorkeling though!  Last time in Bahrain was last summer when we stopped at the airport for fuel on our way back from the desert as we couldn't fuel "charter" aircraft leaving where we were at with "passengers" onboard.

You'll enjoy Arizona and Colorado...take your time and explore both and see which one fits your lifestyle the best.  Good Luck!

That's great! I want to be your neighbor...

Yeah bahrain is a real shit hole but nothing compared to saudi or iraq or af gan i stan. The only place better than bahrain is dubai. But I won't be going on vacation there anytime soon..

Thanks for the info.
