easiest way idfind a local NFA dealer and see what they carry. If you have something spesific in mind that you want and they don't carry it see if they would be willing to order it for you. Once you find what you want it's pretty easy. You fill out a form 4 in duplicate, get two pics(passport type) and the finger print card and citizenship certification form. Once you got all that crap taken care of you send it all in with a check for $200(be sure to include the serial number of the can in the memo section of the check) and wait. Now this all is going on the assumption that you can get the CLEO signoff. If you can't get a CLEO signoff then you have to go the corp route.

Buy one, or two, or in every cal. you own.....they are fun, and do it for the children, you don't want to hurt their ears when they shoot. or scare your neighbors when you shoot.

Cleatus, it is very easy to obtain a suppressor in our area.

We have a great CLEO and has no problem signing Form 4's.

I had my suppressor transfered from Lauer Custom Weaponry in Chippewa Falls. They build suppressors in .22LR to .308 and have built 50BMG suppressors in the past.

I did not buy a LCW "can" because they did not make a quick detach .223 suppressor that would work on multiple rifles. But the guys at LCW were very helpful.

There is a new FFL/SOT Class III dealer that can do transfers for you, and he is located in River Falls.

If you would like you can shoot my suppressor sometime.

Parothead151,

You do not need the CLEO aka Chief Law Enforcement Officer to sign your paperwork. I know a District Attorney in another county and he will sign off on Form 4s because the CLEO in that county doesn't like the idea of people buying machine guns.

So, if your CLEO is a problem contact the DA. If the DA is a problem then you can go the corporate route.

Right off of the back of your Form 4.
HTH,
Dave

Cleo=e. Law Enforcement Certification. Item 17 must be completed for an
individual transferee, unless the transferee is licensed as a manufacturer,
importer, or dealer under the GCA and is a special (occupational) taxpayer
under the NFA at the time of the submission of the application for transfer.
The chief law enforcement officer is considered to be the Chief of Police for
the transferee's city or town of residence; the Sheriff for the transferee's
county of residence; the Head of the State Police for the transferee's State
of residence; a State or local district attorney or prosecutor having
jurisdiction in the transferee's area of residence; or another person whose
certification is acceptable to the Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives. If someone has specific delegated authority to sign
on behalf of the Chief of Police, Sheriff, etc., this fact must be noted by
printing the Chief's, Sheriff's, or other authorized official's name and title,
followed by the word "by" and the full signature and title of the delegated
person. The certificate must be dated no more than one year prior to the
date of receipt of the application.

The $200 tax is per item. So it lasts as long as you want to own the item, or for as long as you live.

Machine guns are expensive because they have been banned since 1986. So there is a very little supply and great demand.

Some machine guns are still "cheap" MACs are 2,500 to 3,100 UZIs are 5,500 to 6,800.

MP5s are 14,000 to 16,500 M16s are 8,500 to 16,500. AK47s are very expensive because not that many wery converted before 1986 so they are 16,000 to 18,000.

Machine guns are a lot of fun, but they cost a lot to own. If you don't want to spend 12 to 15K on your favorite machine gun, you can always rent one for 50 to 150 bucks at a gun range.

A DA from another county can't sign his paperwork. Parothead151 your Sheriff from what I have been told will signb for pretty much any NFA item. So you should be good to go for whatever you want.

Also the DA is THE CLEO of any county. Our old DA signed my first form 4.
