Are you guys cool with legally owned NFA mg's? Both sub and shoulder fired select fire assault weapons?
Also whats up with ammo inspection? Is there something wrong with some particular ammo? What about arranging a private mg demo style invitation only shoot? I hope some of the answers are yes! |

As fir the ammo, it's probably the magnet test, to make sure you don't use steel core, or AP rounds. On that note is M855 OK?, how about surplus 7.62x25? |

How many lanes are dedicated to rifle? all of them. The have a computer controlled MANCOM target system too... The targets turn sidways, run right and left, come at you etc. all in programmed scenarios or custom programmed by the range officer or you if you become versed in programming it. |

Is this only for rifle or can pistols shooters use them as well? |

Went and checked it out today, the place is nice. Brightly lit inside, but the really nice touch is the cleaning room. This is going to be a really classy joint once the place it fully stocked and the walls decorated with displays and product. Surprisingly the sound from the range is quite loud on the sales floor, when I called to ask for the shop hours I thought I was talking to the range master but it really sounds like that in the main area of the shop.
Really nice place. I'm tired of dimly lit gun shops that feel seedy. Wa's place in Westland was always a place where I got the feeling that they wanted me there as a customer and I felt they wanted my business. This new shop is really knocking the ball out of the park! |

I'm looking forward this location as I pass by it several times a week in my work travels. It's a lot of the reason why I have to drive half as far to get to Firing Line but only just recently bought my first firearm from them but have spent enough in Wa's shop to buy a really nice used car in just the last two years. Even then, the only reason I bought it was that Firing Line has an exclusive on Steyr products. |
| I was up there on Saturday. it's a NICE range. HUGE shop area, empty now, but I expect that will change, it's not the same staff as the other store in case your wondering, theres an attached cleaning/locker room, a large attached classroom, and 8 Lanes. I was expecting the range to be super duper crowded with a long wait with only 8 lanes, but I walked right in, only maybe 4 lanes were in use. The MANCOM system is just plane COOL. They can run a scenario for you from outside the range, or you can run it manually from the control panel in your lane, it has kind of a learning curve, but it's not to hard. Unlike the Firing Line, and Top Gun where you have to eyeball your targets position, you can actually tell the MANCOM system EXACTLY where you want it to the foot, the targets also don't seem to flutter when they move like you normally see, so no waiting for the target to stop fluttering after you put it out. The system can be set to turn the target, either manually, or after a set period of time, and can turn them again after a set period of time, and it can turn either way, I'm told they can also charge you. The paper you have to sign says 1 second between shots like at Firing Line, but people were doing rapid fire, and no one said anything that I saw, I think it's just so they can stop you if your being an ass. Wa also said you can rent the MP5 in the display case, he didn't know the price yet, but said he would probably charge $50 to rent it. Theres a stove in there to, but I'm not sure if they will let you cook. lol |
| Went there yesterday. Nice range and nice people. They are still agianst wolf ammo though due to the "Bi-Metal" contruction of the FMJ jackets. No biggie though, their range their rules and I can appreciate that. Signed up for the CCW class on the 10th. Looking forward to spending a little range time there. |

I went there earlier this week. It was a bit of a drive for me but I'm always up for checking out a new place. Nice and clean facility. The electronic target system was fun to play with. You can set the target to flip sideways and then back facing you, have it come towards you, etc. I was a little disappointed with that type of system available that I had to wait at least a second between shots. After talking with a range officer for a little while though he came over and operated it for me and told me to go as fast as I could. Then it got fun!
They carry comp-tac holsters in the store and even had some lefties! That was definitely a nice touch. They also shook my hand and thanked me for coming out. First time I remember anyone shaking my hand for shooting at their range. If they were closer I'd be there a lot. As it stands, I'll still head on out there when I get the chance. Thanks for the hospitality! |
Just want to give this a bump and let you guys know about the CPL course there. It is a first class operation with the instructors. The guys new what they were talking about and we had a few laughs too. Those guys know their stuff and teach a great course. I took a pile of notes for my buddy who got his liscence through the firing line. The firing lines instructors fed him more bullshit to land him in jail for a self defense shooting than you can shake a stick at. I have been to the firing line many times, but with Wa's place now open, he has all my business. Hands down, best gun shop in the area. I hope they continue to prosper.

If my Oregon carry permit goes through in time, I'll be bringing my glock with me when I come back home for a week, and I'll have to check out that place.
I used to work just west of Merriman on Schoolcraft (before I went back into machine work, then moved out west recently), so I know exactly where it's at. Now, if only this place existed a year ago... |
