I posted this in the build yourself forum with no luck yet, so i want to run it by ya'll.
So I am building my father's Christmas present, an m4forgory on a roggio arsenal lower He bought at a gun show six months or so ago. So this afternoon after work I went and slipped the lower out of his safe to start building it and have run into some problems. This is my fourth build or so, and yes I know that roggio has some issues. My father did not know Roggio was a bad company when he bought the lower. The main issue seems to be with the trigger and hammer safety group. When the hammer is cocked the top hook on the disconnector catches the hammer and will not let it fall with the selector on fire. What am i missing? Could it be that the whole da** lower is out of spec. The Only other issue I have noticed is a tight mag well. The lower parts kit is an AR-Stoner. |

Is the trigger not resetting (bad trigger spring or receiver won't allow trigger to have full movement)? The only time the disconnector should be holding the hammer, is if the hammer is pushed back to the cocked position with the trigger pulled. The disconnector holds the hammer only until the trigger is released (trigger resets). |

The disconnector holds the hammer only until the trigger is released (trigger resets). It seems that the hammer is out of spec, as I replaced it with another one I had in stock and the issue seems to have gone away, the problem was that the disconnector was holding hammer with no pressure on the trigger and the safety on fire (not allowing the hammer to catch the sear or fall). This was the first time I have ever encountered anything like this on an ar15. |

I haven't seen that problem, either, but looking at how close the disconnector's hook is to catching the hammer on an AR that is working normally, I can see how it wouldn't take too much extra metal on the hammer to cause a problem.
I like to keep a spare lower parts kit on hand, just for problems that might pop up with out of spec parts during a build (my problem was an out of spec pivot pin). |
