its finally happening. I just traded off my acog for the parts and got one hell of a deal.  I picked up a Lothar Walther spr barrel with 1/8 rifling. It will be going into a mega billet upper and have a Troy thirteen rail.  PRI irons for now. The lower is a mega gator and will be getting a cmt A2 stock kit. It has a miad grip. Glass and trigger are up in the air. But i will do the rest of it justice. I cant get a base set up like that and skimp on the rest.

Vltor may be selling me one. Yankee hills are good, but this is an absolutely premium build. It needs better.

You can put all the money into it you want, but once you get to a certain point, that 4000.00 rifle is just a tool.  Its all going to come down to te skill of the guy pulling the trigger. MOA accuracy at 600+ meters is a lot different than shooting kill houses and 12x12 metal plates at 300yrds.

Just sayin'

Time to get out and do some real shooting now.

I am sure its gonna be a sweet build by they way!  Congrats on the deal you got on the barrel.

This is the only and guaranteed formula for success. Surround yourselves with individuals of this mentality and you may be the ruler of all that you survey. You will at the least get some pie that most only dream of .

And read this for motivation. Burn the Ships

Failure is not an option.

two parts changes made in the op. Ill be running a 100% new upper starting with a billet mega upper and using a troy trxtreme free float tube.  It doesnt have a ton of waisted rail space. Best part is that its cheaper than most rails because of less machining. By the time i sell my kac rail to help fund it, i will out less than 100 bucks for it.

Good call on the rail, I was going to suggest against your first choice for the weight of it.  The barrel isn't overly heavy, but if you add a decent weight rail too it-it can become rather heavy.

considering my first black rifle was a savage 110fp (tactical series in the mid 90s) yeah, i would. Gas guns are no longer less accurate than bolt guns. You just spend more to get it. And have to do your job better. Gas guns have a distinct, undeniable firepower advantage over bolt guns, hence mk12s, sr25s, and m110s all but ending the career of m24s. Most are being rebarrelled into .300 win mag or a few are being converted to .338 lm. The only ones not changing are the short action ones.

I wouldn't want to be a COM target within 400 yards of him and a bolt gun. 500+ when he has time to work with the wind.

You were a little off on your numbers there, i went ahead and fixed that for ya.  Your welcome.

And I dont know any damn italian unless its the name of a pasta dish you get at your local restraunt.  Screw it, I dont need to.  If I cant navigate my way around Italy without know italian I dont need to be there in the first place!

I kept my end of the deal, just let me know the day.
