It depends on what tools you have, what else on the exhaust needs to be replaced, and how good a job you want done.

tools i just have the small amount of tools any normal guy would have....as far as quality..i don't need or want to pay for a custom, blast the neighborhood kind....i just need one on there so i can pass emissions and get it legal again...


i think i just need the actual muffler and any clamps, gaskets etc associated with it...

If it's just a give a damn job it's usually easy enough.  

Wear safety goggles, exhaust work is messy with plenty of debris.

ETA- A full face shield is even better.

turns out upon further detailed inspection...the exhaust pipe from where it leads out from the muffler was rotted to shit.......got the muffler replaced and a new end system welded up, exhaut tip plus oil change and some other minor shit for a bit under two hundred bucks....took about an hour...not to bad...

truly amazing at how quiet my jeep is now with a muffler on it...

In case anyone is interested, I have a pair of Magnaflow mufflers that would sound great...

I also have a header back system for a 94 Jeep Wrangler...  It is a Banks system...

Is the muffler still there if so you need a cut off tool. It should take less than 1 hour and it is really not that hard.
