Went hunting for my first time today. I didn't see anything other than squirrels and birds. The person I went with was a few hundred yards away. He got a buck that weighed 115. I went with him to the processing place since it is right around the corner from where I live. The smell in the skinning area about made me gag. That isn't a job I could do. Hopefully I'll get something next time.

First time i've seen anything at all was last night. I moved my blind to the short dirt road behind the field I normally sit over. Watched an 8pt and a 10pt fight over a few does for about 20 minutes. 10pt walked down road toward me but never turned so that I could get a shot I was comfortable with. He got within 30 yards of me then spooked and took off. He'll be back.

I don't get to go an awful lot myself. Saturday night was the first time I'd seen anything more than a cow horn or a tiny doe.

I came up dry tonight. Had a good time watching the squirrels eat the C'Mere Deer I threw down though.

Don't forget to pack your camo patterned toilet paper. Another hunter might mistake you wiping your ass for a whitetail deer and put a bullet in your gluteus maximus. At least that's what PETA claims.

Wife got one today.
Of course, she doesn't hunt and it was her 8 month old car.

Ya'll gonna let a girl out do you!?

You can't kill something you don't see.

As for the squirrels, I thought about shooting one. Would scare everything else away and turn it into pink mist with the 308 though.

Another day of nothing but squirrels and birds. Every time I think I hear something large, it's a squirrel jumping through the trees. I was in a different stand today. It is covered and has windows that zip up. There was a @#$%^%$^ wasp flying around in it.

The only thing I came close to killing was a guy crossing 261 on my way home. He was about 3/4 of the way across my lane about 30 feet ahead when I saw him. Why do idiots cross the road when traffic is coming?
