Hello,forum members

I am new to this site and ar 15's also.
I am looking to make my 1st weapon purchase.
I have grown fond of the bushmaster m4a3.
is this a good choice for a 1st ar?
or should i look else where.
I already have my md.firearms safety cert.
This is not my 1st weapon i have currently a mossberg 835.
and have handeled other weapons in past.
have been trying to figure out the maze of regulations concerning ownership.
I am lucky to have a former MP working with me.
He will teach me what i need to know about care and feeding.
Does any one here know if the weapon ive chosen meets md regs?
Any way just want to say awesome site!

                                                 thanks
                                              Mike E.

The A3 is the one with the detatchable carry handle, yes?  If so, I have one and it's been great.  Fun, accurate rifle, and I would say it's a good choice for a first AR.  My advice is to get one out of state (online or from a VA/PA dealer) and have it shipped to a FFL.  You'll save several hundered dollars....the flip side is that it will take a little longer to get (and you won't be able to inspect it beforehand if you get it online).
