My wife refuses to carry a gun, she shoots at home and loves it, but not ready for carry. I want to get her some pepper spray, most likely Fox 5.3 but can't find anything in the laws that says it's legal or otherwise, can anybody steer me in the right direction?

No laws in Indiana regulating it that I am aware of either.  I just pulled out the Indiana Criminal Law book and searched the website, nothing there either.  I will tell you that some places, such as airports, may prohibt it. (like on a plane)  I have seen people charged with using it improperly, ie; battery.  I wouldn't expect that she would have any trouble.

The reason you can't find anything is because there really ISN'T any regulation of OC spray in IN. As long as it's not used in a crime, you can carry anything you want. I don't even know of too many places that you can't carry it, either (City County Bldg in Indy, Statehouse, jails/prisons).

I think there is a size limit that civilians can purchase, but is the large size that you wouldn't be carrying.

I don't believe it is actually considered a weapon, but I could be wrong.  OC isn't a chemical, and its not lethal.  I don't see her running into any problems (legally) carrying it.

I've never heard anything about % or amount regulations.

Technically is it not lethal, along with the Taser.

However, if you do research you will find that more people die from OC/CS exposure than they do with a Taser......

My thoughts
My wife won't carry a gun, what about OC

Before my wife had a carry permit, she carried a taser.

That fox is some potent stuff, seriously. There are still makes on the plexiglass at work where someone was sprayed and it started to eat the plexiglas. Just try to stay away from the foams because some people have been known to scrape it off and throw it back.

Tasers = good times. X26, M18L, and I think its the CR2
