Correct me if I'm wrong.....

With priceline, you put in your bid and have to give them all your cc info.  Someone will respond to the bid.....at that point, are you committed?....as in, you have to pay for the room if it's not what you wanted?  Or, do you get to accept the response and then you're committed?

thanks,

After you enter your bid and give the CC info, you are committted if a hotel accepts.

You have control over the date range, particular part of the city you want to stay in, star level, and how much you are willing to pay.
You don't have control over which hotel, and what type of bed setup (but usually the hotel will try to accomodate).

need to know how much to bid? there is a site dedicated to people chiming in on how much they paid:

Are they usually good at putting you in the part of the city you want to be in?

I'm needing a room for a couple of nights in FtW near TCU.  Not going to do me any good if they stick me out by Fossil Creek or Alliance.

Priceline is exact about placing you in the zone you select.
On the priceline Fort Worth map, a mile north of Texas Christian University is zone 11 called "University Area".

i have used priceline over a couple dozen times; and won't travel without it...they have never let me down.

Cool!!!

That is the area I'm looking at.  I think I'll start my bid at $8 for a 3-½ star room.
