Hey, I thought some of you legally-minded folks might know the answer to this one.  A friend in the Marines wants to buy a handgun off me.  He is from Pennsylvania, but has permanent orders to Quantico.  Do we still need to go through an FFL or do his orders make him a Virginian as far as a private transfer would be concerned?  Thanks!

He would be able to buy a gun from an FFL in Va. since he is stationed here, so I don't see why he couldn't buy one through a private sale from a Va. resident..

AD with orders to VA are considered residents of VA for firearms purchases.  Go to the ATF website and verify for yourself.
