So amidst my whole SBR chaos I was tossing around the idea of selling off the pieces I had bought and picking up a colt 6920, since prices have dropped back down. Well I talked to SDI today....finally.....and it's going to be at least 3-4 weeks until I get a new lower. According to the ATF I have to have my form 1 voided and reapply when I receive the new lower. We'll I'm still caught up on this colt 6920 and can't decide whether I should sell off this stealth upper (that I still don't have an optic for) in order to fund that venture.

Anyone wanna talk some sense into me...either way.

6920.... you get what you pay for, it will be a great handy rifle with minimal issues that your grandkids will shoot, with out all the BS hassle from the man... I know its not as mall ninja tacticool as the "stealth ninja warrior" upper sbred to save a few inches, but it will be a damn fine, durable platform that will do more good for you than the other when it all gets said and done. $200 dollars towards a stamp or a a good solid dependable optic? ( i know none really exist but it means towards, as in added to the funding pot ) enjoy the extra 4-5 inches and the $200

I just dont see the allure of the colt rifles.1300 for a regular old ar15 is a little silly if you ask me.Hey it is what you like though so i say get what makes you happy.I would send the 200 dollars back in and also get the sbr,you aleady spent the money so pretend it is still gone.

Dont buy the colt koolaid.......

I wanted to clear up any confusion. I'm still getting my SBR, using an lmt 10.5

The stealth upper wasn't for the SBR, it was a 16 inch I had picked up from a buddy that had a very low round count. I've shot it while he was in possession of it, partnered with a leupold mark 4.....it was impressive. I however still don't have an optic for it and to use its capability need a good variable optic. That was the option.....by selling off the stealth upper with the lower assembly I matched up with it I could easily cover a 6920.

OK, so the SBR is reguardless on the CDI or whoevers lower.

NOW this is what I would ask of whoever made the original lower ...... can they engrave your trust shit on the lower before it leaves the factory for your troubles.  You are going to have to pay to transfer the new lower, so figure that in.  If they can save you a few dollars from having to have it engraved elsewhere why not.  Plus its a good PR move on their part as well.

OK, now that is out of the way.

Sell low round count Stealth upper to pay for Colt 6920.

Well you can probably get close to what a Stealth goes for new if its low mileage as you say, if you resell it.  If selling the Stealth will give enough funds to cover the ENTIRE cost of the 6920 then scrap the Stealth and buy the 6920.  IF the sale of the stealth will NOT cover the entire cost of the 6920 I would continue to buy the needed stuff to make a complete rifle out of the Stealth.

Im not a fan boy of either really.  But if you are going to change things on the 6920 to build out something that you want.  Why not build up the Stealth into a precision rig like it was meant to be.

.

I didn't even think about having to have the new one transferred to me. Do you think they will have the nerve to expect me to pay that? I sure as hell don't think an additional transfer fee as well as shipping charges equates to me getting what I payed for.

As for selling the stealth upper and lower I have partnered with it I will be able to cover the 6920 while saving a little cash as well.

I wouldnt buy a Colt just for buying a Colt.  Keep the Stealth, save some pennies and buy a decent piece of glass for on it ... then go shoot the fuck out of it.

OH, and they MIGHT be able to ship you the new lower directly to you since it is a manufacturer replacement for a defective reciever.

I know that Henry was able to ship my dad a replacement rifle directly to him ..... didnt need to go thru an FFL since it was a replacement.

That's what I thought initially but then again wasn't sure because it is a NEW serial.
