Do everyone a favor, go get a firearm purchase certificate. It takes 5 minutes to apply, $5 to get, and 5 minutes to pick it up, and is good for three years. Don't tie up the dealer's time at a show, where he could miss a sale because you were too lazy to get a permit. It may save you lots of time and effort, avoiding delays from the NICS check.
My brother who lives in Kansas has two DUIs, he gets delayed every time, which could be up to three days (IIRC). |

How long it takes to get depends on what county your in and if you "know" someone in the Sheriffs office. Mine wasn't ready until the next day. If your in Douglas Co. (Omaha) it could be 3-5 days. Get the handgun permit. It makes things fast and smooth. |
