Hughes is a big time PITA to deal with... (or whatever they are called now...) Are you sure wireless is not available in your area? Do you get a cell phone signal out there? You could check out the data plans available through the major cell phone companies... Also, depending on where you live, you might be able to get an ISP that does wireless setups, like Internet America. You can try this form and see if you are able to get wireless service through Internet America... www.internetamerica.com/products_and_services/wireless/wireless_prequal.php |

I had Hughes for several years because it was my only option. Periodically I would have problems and tech support was enough to make me want to slam my male unit in the door. It would sometimes take a day or two to solve the issue working with Rajji "you can call me Ralph". I got so frustrated one time that I spent a couple of days working through the maze to get to a big wheel in the corporate HQ on the east coast. I had to do detective work to uncover the corporate people. I told him it was a shame to have such a potentially good product and screw it up by outsourcing the tech support to a bunch of people that can't speak English well enough to keep me from wanting to rip their lungs out of their chest cavity. I assured him that as soon as another option became available that I would drop them and have a bigass party. I also vowed to tell the world that their customer service/tech support could not possibly be any more frustrating if they wanted. They have perfected the art of giving the customer "terminal red-ass". All I can say is F&*^ the F&%#'in F&$%ers until they are dead and then do it some more!!! When alternative service became available I made it a point to tell them why I was leaving the flock. Several people called me to ask why I was leaving and I told them all, including Rajji that I didn't want to deal with outsource bastards that couldn't communicate in English. |
Damn sunshine, tell us how you really feel..... |
You are the reason I have a job. Thanks man... and keep up the great work! |
Yeah, I forgot to tell about being able to smell over the phone. |

Direcway.com not bad much better than dialup. software 600 and 60 a month. i have a data card for my pc laptop too and love it i can internet anywhere even while driving. at&t service. its good also faster in the metroplex (gsm) not so fast in the country i live in gainesville, but it works anywhere a phone does. also 60 a month. both services are good i had no major problems and thier both better than dialup which sucks. fireblade |
I have pegasus broad band and recommend it highly--if you can get it at 29$ a month. I think they got bought out by someone recently. It is like click and your there. INSTANTLY! Check your yellow pages. I also know people over by you that use clearwire and say it is good. Some of the satalite tv providers have internet access also. I couldn't live with dial up again. Once you go dsl you won't go back.... |
My thoughts exactly. I switched to Wildblue and it was better but was more expensive to get decent speeds. I now have Verizon wireless and it rocks. |
+1 on the AT&T. I have AT&T and Verizon and the AT&T is by far the best. |
