I am wanting to get some fiber optic sites for a Rossi single shot20 ga. I have a .22 barrel and a .243. It is a youth model. So what would be brand of sights that a eight yr old girl can use.

I also traded for tc encore ss, in 7 mag. A Simmons whitetail scope. Dont like the scope or a big fan of 7 mag. But can get rid of barrel and get a new scope. I also want a the 50 cal muzzle loader. I might keep the 7 mag incase i ever go out West for elk or mullies at long range. But I def want a 308 barrel and the 50 cal muzzle loader. Any shop around have them in stock.

308 is still a bear out of a pistol. I've unsuccessfully been hunting for a 300 blk barrel for my savage striker. I think it would be a great mild caliber.

I'm not real familiar with the 300.. But surely there something out there close? 30-30? 7.62x39? 30 cal carbine? There's 100 years of calibers out there and most everything has been tried.. Maybe look back instead of forward. Just a thought  Sincerely trying to help Rob

Well I am already loading 300 BLK for a few other guns. I don't like buying ammo so It's nice to have common calibers to reload. A 30-30 or 7.62x39 would be just fine, but its just as expensive to get one of those barrels as a custom 300 BLK.

Its just a plain old savage barrel that I can install myself, but needs to be short and threaded for a suppressor.

So what is a good brand of sights that is easy to install and are tough enough to take the abuse that a beginner shooter put it thru.

You'd have to likely either post close ups of the sights or call Rossi. Are they in a dovetail now? Its tricky fitting sights after the fact.

I'd recommend a rail and a red dot to learn. Like we discussed in a previous thread, iron sights are the "advanced" way of shooting and kids can get discouraged. Let them get the fundamental of shooting and safety down without be distracted by complicated sights.

It's counter intuitive to alot of old timers but it makes a lot of sense to me.

The 243 has a red dot. I was wanting something for the shotgun barrel which only has a bead on end of it.

Do just want a front fiber optic for the shotgun barrel or a front/rear set?

If it's just a front, $10 to $15 will buy an adhesive front fiber optic that works great for regular shooting. So long as you clean off mounting spot with rubbing alcohol, it'll stick and stay.
