ok i have lived in ok for just over a year, for school. i am a permanent resident not a citizen. i have a canadian passport, and have a permanent residentcy of texas. sooo y is it so hard for me to buy a gun in this state!!!!! weird... or is this normal.

If you are a US citizen.  And can prove 90 days state residency  on some kind of state or federal document (in the state that you are trying to buy the firearm) then there should be no problem.  If you are a LEGAL alien then you should have a US issued alien or admission number.  With that and the meeting the proper residency / legal requirements then you should still be okay.

well i have a green card and alien number, have been in this country for alomst 15 years... which is much more then half of my life time, and i a perm. resident of Texas, so..... is there anything that would cause me not to be able to buy a long gun in the state of OK?

I'm fairly sure it's legal, probably they don't want to bother with the paperwork or have to look up the information in their ATF regs, I've got the regs from ATF and they can be a real pain to find specific things.

ug it might be more simple to find some one who is selling what i want for the price and conduct a person to person FTF sale...... god some things are a pain in the ass when you arent a citizen.....

Call the ATF in OKC and see what you need to do.  then go buy a AR

How long have you been in Oklahoma?  Can you prove it (like a water bill in your name)?  Where are you in Oklahoma?

tulsa and just over a year.....but i cant change my permanent residency, still needed by my parents as a dependent
