$464? I thought it was $600 for individual.  I received total of $1800 for our family and it's gone already

Don't have mine yet...

When I get it in, it wont go directly towards guns anyway...

Through the past for years, I found the more money I spend on my lovely lady, the more she'll spend on me.  I buy her nice, pretty, sparkley jewelry and flowers, she buys me nice, pretty, sparkley guns and ammo.

Neat little trade off we got goin' on...

So as un-manly as it is to say, I'll probably be headed to the jewelry store to go put a down payment on wedding band whenever my stimulus check comes in...

You get back up to $600 but no more than what you paid in fed taxes and like someone said above it also starts to get reduced for people who make above 75k.

My girlfriend is a student, and works part time.  She only got back 480 something, which was what she paid over the year in fed income taxes after deductions and her normal tax return.  So basically she didnt pay any fed income tax for the fiscal year 2007.

I got a $600 check. So I'm going to order a custom rifle built by either Anvil Arms or Spikes Tactical. I have no clue yet by who. In the end here are the specs of the rifle I want.

20 inch AR-15
M16A1 Style barrel (the light weight pencil thin barrel. Not the HBAR).
A3 Flat Top Receiver
M16A2 Front Sight
M16A2 Flash Hider
M16A1 Tear Drop Forward Assist
M16A2 forgrip
M16A2 rear stock with trap door
M16A1 Pistol Grip
Standard Bolt, Bolt Carrier, & Charging Handle
And a laser engraving of the Cobra symbol on the magazine well

I have a spare Carry handle with sights lying around. Hence why I want a flat top. Also I want to keep this rifle KISS.

Mine is going to Gainesville at the end of June for summer classes. Good news/bad news. Good news=my son should be done with college in about four years. Bad news=my daughter is only a freshman in high school. Add that together=me being broke for the next 8-9 years....

I still have not gotten mine.  Iam wondering what's up with that?????  I had my return direct deposited, and my last two of my social is 77, which, according to the list, should have been deposited by 05-16-08 into my account.  On another site, I saw where they say to allow two weeks from that date, which would be tomorrow.

You should have gotten yours already, I received the IRS computation letter last week explaining why I received that amount. You might want to check IRS.GOV and see if there's an FAQ or link regarding the delay.

It humors me when people seem to think that this stimulus check is "free money"

You folks do realize that this is $$ that is essentially being borrowed from the US tax paying citizens themselves, right?

Nothing like passing off debt to future generations to stimulate the economy that's already in a severe tail spin.

FWIW, I won't be getting shit for a stimulus check and that's just fine with me.

Shitty part is that I will have to pay (or repay) more than my fair share back on this "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" type of stimulation.

GOD I WISH BUSH COULD RUN FOR A 3RD TERM!!!

Anyone still waiting besides me?  My wife found something on IRS.gov today that said that if you paid any kind of filing fee/direct deposit fee with your regular refund, then you would be mailed a check, instead of direct deposit.  My question is....did anyone file with Turbo Tax last year, and pay the filing/direct deposit fee, AND get their refund already by direct deposit?

that's exactly how I filed and I received my direct deposit on the date scheduled as per the IRS website. there was an issue that I read about some banks not being able to verify info for uncle sam. so, instead of direct depositing into these accounts not recognized, uncle sam will mail these payments out, despite your request for direct deposit. More info is at the turbo tax website.

Yep, here is the scoop....As per Turbo Tax (Intuit Web Site)

IMPORTANT -- How you paid your tax preparation or filing fees could determine when you get your rebate
Even if you have received or will receive your tax refund by direct deposit to your bank account using Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, the IRS will not do the same for your tax rebate. It will mail your rebate instead.

This situation applies only if you chose, at the time you filed your tax return, to pay your tax preparation or filing fees by having them deducted from your expected refund. The payment arrangement with the bank, which carries an additional fee, offers an alternative to paying with a credit card.

Why can't I have my rebate direct deposited just like my tax refund?
When TurboTax customers decided to pay their tax preparation or filing fees with their refunds, they authorized a bank to set up temporary accounts to be used only to receive their 2007 income tax refunds from the IRS. The temporary bank-account information was transmitted to the IRS along with each tax return.

The IRS sent the refund to the temporary account and the bank then transmitted the tax refund (minus the tax preparation fees) directly to the customer's actual bank account.

Because the IRS does not receive a taxpayer's bank-account number, under this payment method, it cannot match a taxpayer with that taxpayer's regular bank account.

That's why the IRS decided that taxpayers who entered into financial transactions with third parties, such as SBB&T, would get rebates by mail. This applies to all third-party transactions offered by tax software companies, including "refund anticipation loans" or RALs (loans made to tax filers against their expected refunds). TurboTax does not offer RALs.
