| hi ive just got a ST-22 great little thing just feels so much more of a better build than the gsg5 ive just let go albeit i had no problems with that , Back to what i would like to know is i would like to also get a dedicated 223 upper , how does this work as far as your FAC goes is it listed as 2 rifles cal's listed or 1 rifle with 2 uppers no cal listed , also is it better to go that way or just get a 223 AR15 and be done with it . if theres no great advantage as far as your FAC goes to having 2 uppers and 1 lower, i may as well save a little longer and get a dedicated 223 . In short i want/need another hunting 223 or a 243 which is ok i guess with my FEO but depending how the AR's are listed it would be pushing it to get x3 .223's . |

As far as I remember you need to get a slot for a barreled action for your .223 upper.
I think you also need to get your lower registered as multi caliber but to tell you the truth I can't be sure, as I no longer have to worry about the craziness that comes with UK ownership |

Ask for a barrelled action in 5.56. Hopefully your force look at a 5.56 as different to a .223 (or even ask for a 22cal - it's all the same but this might cause some more confusion and questions). The lower does not have to re-registered as a multi calibre anything.
The thing is if you can justify the same calibre again then you should be able to get it. If you cannot you have to ask yourself what you want it for, or are you just starting a collection. Some forces list it as a separate barrel and spare receiver but they'll let you know when you apply. What you'll get listed will be something like - barrelled action, SGC (or other maker), .223 or 5.56, no serial number (NVN). SGC will most likely number it, and you can swap it with the .22LR upper whenever you like. |
