damn I must got a new ups driver, was supposed to have an order delivered today, wasn't here when I got to the house so I checked tracking,

it said "taken back to center, rescanning for correct address", hell I must have had about a hundred packages delivered over the years, this is the first time I ever had one taken back because they couldn't find my house.

I used to have that problem constantly when I lived outside the big city but it was an oddball case. I lived on a road that was only 3 "country blocks" long. The house numbers went in order South to North, 6000, then 7000, then it got to the block I was on - which should have been 8000 - but my address was 5050, out of sequence. Any driver that tried to find 5050 got to the south end of the 6000 block and was looking at a long dirt driveway to somebody's house.

Mail came fine because we were on a rural route, but every commercial delivery driver had to be trained. If I wanted anything overnight, I had to pony up for USPS fees or pray that there wasn't going to be a new driver on the route.

My ex never quite got the finer points of all that. Once in August, she ordered one of those way expensive boxes of Omaha steaks. They couldn't find the place, she bitched out the shipping company and gave them directions - then they delivered it bright and early the next morning and it sat outside in the sun all day while we were at work. Opened up the box, and they were really warm. Had to toss 'em all.

FedEx did the all-time best. I worked for a gummint office and we had to send regular reports to HQ in Washington in one of the federal buildings. It always went in their preprinted envelope, and we were one of at least 300 similar offices, all shoveling paperwork out the door. It didn't get there, we called FedEx for a 'what's the deal?' report, and it had gone back as "no such address."   But at least they found D.C. without much trouble.

A couple of weeks ago I was expecting a package delivery, I kept checking the porch and never found the box, the driver normally rings the door bell when they drop something off. Later I went online and checked status, it showed it "delivered-left on porch", so I checked and there it was...why didn't the driver ring the bell?  When I picked up the box I found out!

Luckily there was enough packing that the contents weren't damaged!

the numbering is screwed up in my neighborhood, but my normal ups driver knows that, hell the dude even puts the order in the lock box like I request, the different drivers usually just put in on the porch or by my mail box (way down at the end of the driveway), but apparently this other driver couldn't even find my house.

I'd would have them deliver to my work, but it's not a good idea to have gun stuff delivered to a indian casino.

The tracking shows my rifle as still being in some station in Illinois, when it was supposed to be delivered today. :(

My UPS guy dropped off a small package of bike nuts and bolts today. I am also expecting some goodies from Midway, so I got on line and checked it out. 1 Oct 12:55 PM on the truck for final delivery. I just checked again, same thing. Either he plans on keeping it for himself, or he just missed it on the truck, or it fell out somewhere along the way. What concerns me is that its after 10:00, and it hasn't been scanned back in It was my normal UPS guy too. Dammit!!!!!

MOTHERFUCKERS.........................damn just checked tracking and it says the driver tried to deliver this afternoon and shipment was refused and is in transit back to shipper.

it was fucking refused because they took it to the wrong address, now I gotta call the vendor in the morning and have the sonofabitch reshipped, I'm going to ask them what address they sent it to, the invoice I have has my correct address so the googlemap checking bastards at ups can't find my house,  I even put a cardboard box in my driveway this morning with my address in large black letters so the "new driver" wouldn't miss it, since they don't see the 4" high numbers on the mail box post that's right next to the entrance of my driveway.

fuckmefunny I've never had this kind of issue with ups, or any other shipper except fed-ex a couple of years back, I wasn't at the house when the driver came by, but they recognized my work phone number so they delivered an upper to the receiving dept at my work.

called the vendor this morning, spoke with a dude named Bo, after a bit of checking he says it was shipped back because it was refused by the recepient, he checked the shipping address and everything was correct, that the ups driver must have delivered to the wrong address,

so Bo put into their comp that as soon as the package arrives back, to check and confirm shipping label is correct then send it back out.

fuckmefunny.

If my UPS guy doesn't drop off my Midway stuff and my Mustang seat today, I'll be waiting on him monday. You can disappear from some gravel roads out in the country

Is it Hodgkins, Illinois? I've noticed that's some kind of black hole for tracking numbers. Most of the time, tracking ends right there until the package shows up on my doorstep.

don't hold your breath for your midway package, it's probably riding in the same truck as mine, back to MO.

I got my Midway stuff today , But they did that weird thing where it starts out UPS, then they deliver it to my Post Office, and they deliver it to me
I guess it is cheaper that way, I don't know.

Y'all are lucky. The Dumbass UPS driver out here won't even try to deliver at our house anymore.

See, a year ago last spring, said Dumbass delivered a package clearly labeled as coming from and containing gun related stuff. He made some kind of Dumbass comment, at which I told him that what we had delivered was none of his business and that he needed to just do his job, and closed the door in his face. This wasn't the first time Dumbass said something stupid about the frequency or contents of our deliveries.

Then, Dumbass got back in his truck and tried to turn it around to leave. Well, there was plenty of room in the yard to turn around but Dumbass decided it would be a good idea to back up into the soggy hayfield instead. Yep, he got stuck.

So here I am, home alone with our 4 kids, with a Dumbass and his Dumbass truck stuck in the hayfield. No, I didn't go out and offer to pull him out with my minivan. Dumbass had to call a wrecker.

So now, if whoever we try to order from ships UPS, we have to put in a special request that they find an alternate shipping method, because Dumbass will just stop out in the road, put a note on our gate that says we can come to the UPS hub to pick up our package, and goes on his way.

I've even tried talking to Dumbass's supervisor, but that Toady is even worse. He defends the stupidity of Dumbass and says delivering to us costs him too much money in wrecker fees. Like it takes money out of Toady's paycheck or something. Worse, I've told him that if his Dumbass driver hadn't tried to turn around in a hayfield there never would have been a problem...Toady says it shouldn't be up to the Dumbass to find a place to turn around, that we should gravel or pave a place for Dumbass to turn around if we want deliveries here.

I think if you can't trust a Dumbass to not try to drive in a hayfield, how is it possible that he has the judgment needed to drive on the streets with other cars?

This should have been here two weeks ago. Hopefully it will hit Mark's in Moore today, instead of being sent back to New Hampshire. I hope they didn't fuck my rifle up.
