Why does it seem that someone, every couple of months, does something that keeps the South stuck in the perpetual stereotype that we are all just uneducated, inbred hicks??

Everywhere I look, I see "Georgia" tagged to these goofballs claiming to have Bigfoot.

Great. Thanks guys.

We are just now distancing ourselves enough from Jimmy Carter to have breathing room.

Now this????

I have to get on a plane and go to Kali next week and I know this, along with many other Southern 'impressions', will be a topic of conversation at some point.

I know it helps keep some of the Yankees out, but not enough (just look around).

I mean, cmon. I have never even slept with my sister or a cousin.

The indoor plumbing and electricity is still pretty neat, but the novelty has worn off some now that we have had it for a spell.

I even wear shoes year round now......well, almost.

BTW - how do ya'll like my summer overalls??? Sure is a lot cooler than wearing the winter ones.

Well, if you would quit playing the banjo maybe that would help.

Pretty snazzy, but you really need to get your bellybutton pierced if you are going to represent like that.

I believe in bigfoot. It's not a "hick" thing, it's a belief that we are not the complete masters of our domain. I want to believe that there are things on this planet which have not yet been cataloged, categorized, and dissected. There are more things in heaven and earth then are dreamed of in most people's philosophy...

Yeah, I'm with you, but snagging a halloween costume and dumping animal guts on it and holding a press conference ain't helping the rest of us already cataloged and categorized as "Southern".

The stereotype keeps most of the yankees at home.  They don't wanna get "Squealed like a pig"   You don't know it but the movie deliverance was the greatest north to south immigration reform ever.

Well I would then point out it is a cop doing this! It's not a referendum on "southerners" but on law enforcement!

I was stationed in Kali in the mid 80's.  More than one person I met believed we drove around almost exclusively on dirt roads in Orange Chargers.  Go ahead and perpetuate the myths.  We don't need any more liberals moving here.

Change your State song from "Dueling Banjos" to something else then.

I was in Town Center in Kenesaw (where every home owner has to own a gun by law) and happened to see a Banjo store, yes folks a Banjo store in the Mall. I didn't even know such a thing existed!!!  It's just too much of a cliche too bear.
