its amazing how many people flood to my table when i take my RRA to the range, wondering what kind of gun i am using, and tell me that its amazing and that their jealous.. apperantly in CA ppl don't see AR's very often, or at least where i live. let alone a full CA legal one that you can still "drop the mag" (BB)

You must be out in the sticks where the only ARs are illegal AWs by folks that didn't register.

In the great Bay Area just about every range every weekend is full of off-list ARs/AKs.  I'm sure SoCal is somewhat similar.

I live in San Jose and frequent the Metcalf and Los Altos R & G ranges. Besides myself, there are usually several other folks with AR's there as well.  We are not lacking AR's around here!

Bill, where do you shoot?  I would like to chat with you sometime.

I was just out at that range on thursday last week.  Not one person even seemed to notice my AR.  I guess I'm just not special like you...

2 people did pull up at the table to my right (I was at the second table from the right) and each time they only stayed for 1 mag and left real quick.  Maybe my AR15 scared them away.

Thats a real nice range though, too bad it's an hour and a half drive for me and spenceville is only half the drive.

When I use to go to paid ranges I would always attempt to get the far right-hand table out of respect. The AR does have a rather positive ejection cycle.

Occasionally I'd just toss a gun rag over the ejection port if I couldn't get my favorite spot.

My buddy and I get the "occasional stare" from other shooters when we go to our local indoor range.  Once in a while we do see another fellow AR shooter.  Pre-ban that is.

My mom doesn't have one but that's ok...I have 4.  I have to compensate for my mom, dad, and sister since neither of those slackers bought one.

I grew up in Chico and shot at Oroville on occasion, its a small world.  Seems like the place was always empty when I was there.

Cheers

i am in the area. i have been to spenceville quiet a few times but it is almost an hour from me. and it is getting kind of trashy. no benches to speak of the last time i was out that way. never been to the clay pits but i have a friends that go there. what is the yardage out there? i have a buddy with a 170 ish yard range at his house and it is 15 min from me. no morons with guns there. i would like to shoot out a little farther than he has but i have heard of the police hassling ar shooters at the clay pits.

if you guys are going out to shoot here in lovely nor ca let me know, i will prove to you i do not get enough practice.

In SD, nobody even looks twice at an AR.

As others stated above, my local ranges are also filled with AR's. A few years ago we would get some funny looks, but not anymore.

I shoot at Los Altos R&G and sometimes Chabot (for the Calguns Shoot-N-Qs).

I don't get out often enough.
