Why would an upper slated for the India government be in a 16 inch format with a bayo lug that would not function?
I can understand 16 inch but not a non functioning bayo lug to a foreign gov. I believe the CK901 is 16 inch with no bayo lug. I have a feeling they are not in any original configuration that India ordered. Perhaps "reconfigured" for disposition to the US market??? Also, is it possible that the 5 round limiter is in place because the mag won't function with more than 5 rounds reliable? Remember, previous Colt 7.62X39 mags would not function with more than maybe 5-7 rounds because the mag was not curved to 7.62X39. I am curious to see a pic of these 5 round limited Colt mags. Unless they are very curved, the 5 round limiter is there so the mag will work. |

This is Curious.............
When you add the upper to your cart, the mag is separately added to your cart as a free additional sale. This kinda makes me think that the mag is not originally supplied with the upper and added by the seller. Are these mags Colt marked 7.62X39 floor plates OR standard 5.56 mags with 5 round limiters to make them work? Forgive me, not trying to troll the post! $1000 bucks is a big purchase for me and I am running all the possibilities to make my decision. |

There were only 16 available to us, maybe there were a few more that Colt employees snagged but this is all that was sold. These were the original ones made for the India trials. There were originally approximately 40 something magazines sent to us, they all had rivets and some internal block that limits them to 5 rounds, they were sold to us separately we are including them as a courtesy.
They are in stock and have begun shipping, our web guy just hasnt snapped proper photos we put up temporary ones since they will be gone pretty quick |

I will preface this by saying I am not affiliated with AU at all.
Having said that, from a business perspective it makes zero sense for AU to invest a bunch of time into making great photos and detailed listing information for something that he only received a few of and is a one-time shot that will not be carried again. He will undoubtedly delete the product listing once they are gone. If you are willing to chance it, you can wait for me to get mine and I can post more photos of my used upper here. I am on the road for Uncle Sam Tuesday and Wednesday so, depending on when AU ships and I receive you very well miss the opportunity. I would bet there are fewer than ten left by now. |

So why didn't you people keep a magazine for each remaining upper? I put an upper in the cart and it tells me there are no mags included. So much for the "courtesy" mag.
Actually, I can't even put the upper in the cart even though it shows them in stock. Not sure where things stand at this point. ETA: Now the mags are showing as available, but at the $22.95 price for extras....and the website let me put 10 uppers in my cart. So did you end up buying more than the 16 uppers or is your website in error? |

As far as the mags...................
These appear to be NOS Colt 7.62X39 mags as supplied many years ago with the Sporter 7.62X39. 2 different mags came with 7.62X39 carbines years ago. One without a limiter and one with. I believe the limiter was used to prevent users from loading too many rounds for reliability. Because its a straight body, the mag cannot be reliable with more than 5-7 rounds. I believe the limiter has more to do with reliability than a export/import restriction for India. These mags are a collectible and their value quite high. |

So my upper came in and it maybe had a mag put through it. Still smelled of fresh gunpowder! Upper had the sticker which I was told was going to be on it as the 20 uppers were numbered for trials. I did not know that they would have the box so that is a bonus! My only ask is if someone wants to trade boxes, that would be much appreciated. My box is for #9 and I have upper #12....
