First of all I want to thank all of our Customers and Business Partners who have made the last 9 years the best years of my life. For me every day is like Christmas, I get to do what I love, live the American Dream and be surrounded by some of the best people in the world.
A lot of people have asked over the years why I started PSA and the simple answer is that like most Americans I love freedom. The highest level of freedom is to not just posses it, but to be able to defend it. At 17 I was blessed with opportunity to join the US Army. Over the last 20 years I have been given the honor to serve in the defense of freedom twice and it is the highest calling. The direction of this country really scares me. We all sit in awe as our country seems to willingly hand over its freedom with no regard. I believe that it is the calling and mission of PSA, its employees, and every American to do what they can to spread and preserve as much freedom and liberty as possible during our time on this earth so we can pass it on to our children and our grandchildren. I would like to update everyone on the shipping delays that our customers have been experiencing over the last ten days or so. About a year ago we became concerned that we would not be able to keep up with order volume this fall. We decided to implement a new ERP system. We had to get it implemented before the busy season in the fall. We began implementing it August 1st. It was only supposed to take a day or two of down time. We ran into some issues with the implementation and it ended up taking significantly longer. The good news is that the new system is in place and we have begun normal operations. The new system will allow us to ship a significantly higher number of packages. We apologize for the delay, the last week has been difficult for all of us. The locomotive has begun to move and we will be caught back up very soon. Thanks everyone for your orders and support over the years. We couldn't do it without you. On Friday I will be doing another post updating everyone on the status of some of our recent projects. Thanks and God Bless, Jamin McCallum CEO Palmetto State Armory |
|
Having been involved in implementing several new and updated systems in past I can sympathize with you
They always cost more than expected, take longer than expected and always have unexpected bumps along the way Good luck with the new system. |
|
Despite the somewhat extended wait times, Palmetto has always come through.
I'm willing to wait as long as there is an appropriate level of communication. |
|
A Stand Up dude says "it's busted. We are on it. You are important to me. Sorry for the delay."
|
|
Thank you for explaining the situation. No one likes to wait for anything these days, but the reality is that a lot needs to happen in the background to keep live inventory and get packages out the door. Hopefully your new system is a success. Keep the good deals coming!

As a long time PSA Customer the explanation on the back end is appreciated but misplaced. This should be on your order page when people order so they can choose whether or not to continue with the order. Over the last six months order to shipment times were very fast. Then boom, a roadblock. This issue started at the end of July and anyone ordering in August should have been notified.
Additionally, Customers who order items and see them go out of stock, wait for said items only to see them re-listed or re-listed at a lower price without shipment of the same item they ordered start to wonder what is really going on. |

View Quote I agree with the above. It would save everyone's time (PSA's customer service team especially) if something would've been posted on the PSA website. Or you know, after you order, get an email stating why it's been delayed. I understand it comes with the territory of ordering from a smaller shop, and i've been a long supporter of PSA, but this was not handled well IMO. Does not feel good to see the $$$ disappear and then hear nothing for 10 days. |

CEOs always have to be opining...three paragraphs that have nothing to do with the issue at hand before we get into the actual problem, and then it's "good news folks!" Good news that my in-stock item order on 7/29 is finally going to ship? The one that was an on the shelf part that needed no assembly, that I was charged for right away?
Have you held anyone in your organization accountable? This is certainly not the first time your company has experienced order system issues or severe customer service issues. The new system seems to be a terrible decision strategically, as well as on the implementation side (those are separate lanes) and the risk mitigation that should have been in place on the customer service side was clearly a failure as well. I would highly recommend you use an independent consulting service in some way to assess the high level plans and workflow for changes such as this in the future, as this isn't the first time this has happened to you guys. Have you conducted a financial impact analysis on this outage? If so, I'd imagine that data would pretty clearly demonstrate that some type of third-party planning or analysis before these types of initiatives would probably pay for itself several times over. Other companies in the same realm do not experience these types of high-profile high-impact problems, and you should not accept that your company does either. |

Tell me why I'm paying taxes in GA on your online orders, when I can't walk into a PSA store anywhere in GA and buy from a B&M store.
Lost me as a customer from now on. |

Thanks for your response, my is palmetto busy post was not to still a hornets nest just checking on an order that had my phone number changed and I was concerned something was wrong with the order. I have done business with your company for many years and I have had good CS over the years. I was unaware that a computer change had been made or shipping procedures were going to be different. I would have still ordered but would have not been concerned at the wait or number change on my order, if I had known. Thanks for keeping us updated on the issue.

update received my order today and it was all good! thanks for your response and CS!

These types of issues have plagued PSA in the past and they continue. That's definitely an internal structure issue. As far as the statement, I appreciate someone FINALLY coming forward and saying something because the silence on the matter was deafening, but did anybody else hear "The Grapes of Wrath" playing in the background as you read the opening fluff? |

I have been trying to call for 3 days, only to hear "All circuits are busy, please try your call again later."
I need an RMA. I don't want to hash out the issue here until I see if I can return it. More on that later. Also, another order I placed on 8/2/2016 still shows "processing" on the web site. A long time for a daily deal item. |

MA quick update on the state of Palmetto State Armory.
We are very pleased to say our new ERP system is up and running which has resulted in our shipping department returning to full strength and already showing promise of increased capability. We will continue to run two shifts in order to catch up as quickly as possible and then stay ahead of the curve moving forward. The PSAK-47 is now back in stock and will continue to be restocked daily. Our basic polymer version is currently going through the 5000 round torture test with the AK Operators Union as well. We will also be releasing a batch of generation 1 AR10 kits next week and we know they will go very fast! We are excited to announce the gen2 will be released late September. Thank you again for your continued support and I will be posting updates like this quite often moving forward. Sincerely, Jamin McCallum CEO Palmetto State Armory |

Eh? I just assumed that long shipping times were part of your business model to keep prices super low while selling quality products. It costs A LOT to hire even 1 additional employee just for shipping stuff.
Also, thank you for your service Jamin McCallum; I did not know PSA was veteran run until now. |

Ordered $350 worth of ammo on 7/29 and have yet to receive even a confirmation of order email. When I log in it says the order is complete but doesn't provide a tracking number. Not sure if you're aware of this, but your credit card vendor seems to be compromised. People over at Reddit have reported multiple fraudulent charges and this isn't the first time it has happened. Very serious issue there man, I linked the thread below for your reference. Thread number 1 |

feedmyAR,
We are sorry you feel this way. As part of precautions against theft, we do not store credit card information on our servers. Transactions are sent via an encrypted connection directly to our credit card processor. Employee’s at PSA also do not have access to customer credit card numbers, and only the last 4 digits are associated with your order. We engage several third party information security partners to protect our infrastructure and applications. To date they have not reported any issues or signs of a breach. We will continue to treat any reports of customer information security issues with the severity that it deserves and will update customers if anything is found. |
|
Ok, but by the logic of you having "thousands" of transactions per day, wouldn't it be even more alarming that such a small fraction of your customer base (Reddit) is reporting a high number of fraudulent charges after buying from your business?
I believe its not just segregated to Reddit either, just a simple Google search brings back a ton of folks who have the same experience. Not that it matters coming from some "guy" on the internet, but you really need to hire another reputable party to start at the point of sale and systematically audit your entire method of processing customer payment. There is a leak somewhere. |
