Where does this question (will this MP5 use something other than MP5 mags) keep coming from? This thread is the only instance I've ever heard of such a thing. Though I know that at one point Atlantic Firearms sold something that was cosmetically an MP5, but was blowback (I think) and took Uzi mags. But that's Atlantic, and that thing was never billed as an MP5. Its not an MP5 if it doesn't take MP5 mags; it's an MP5 style roller lock rifle. Which, if we're asking for those, I'd like one that, if it has to have a 16" barrel, also has HK93 style full length furniture (for those of us who don't like the long barrel/short hand guard look). The longer handguard would also let me install wooden furniture ETA: scorpion mags and AR triggers? Where is the source of this kinda stuff? Did I miss a thread somewhere? Interchangeable mags between three platforms. Two of which are Produced by the same company. That would be the cats ass. |

Just keeping this one alive with a courtesy bump! Getting excited and almost posted some stuff on the EE for a Zenith. But seeing how the Zenith is no where to be found, this is an opportune time for PSA to get this to the market. Come on PSA!!!

Yerp. The plain ol` black ones came in back in June for $1350ish. I snagged the reverse stretch and the full size and already got one of the tax stamps back. https://i.ibb.co/fSBfww1/Screenshot-20190725-101313.png https://i.ibb.co/54c8R9J/Screen-Shot-2019-08-14-at-11-13-24-AM.png View Quote |

I looked at a Zenith in a gun store over the weekend....I fondled some 9mm ARs in a gun store over the weekend.
Waiting for what you really want is hard. |

I guess I can unsubscribe to this thread now. Ordered a PTR that is arriving tomorrow. Sorry PSA, was not going to wait with the political climate right now. At least I kept the money in SC

So back when PSA first started showing this thing off it was pictured with that awesome tailhook brace and PSA was talking about a sub-$1000 price point. I have been anxiously awaiting this thing ever since. I was just showing my son the pics further up in this thread from earlier this year and we noted that it had no brace, while the talk is still of $1000 but sounds lot more tentative, like they hope not to overshoot it by too much. So if this thing ends up at $1100, and then I have to go spend $250 on a brace (SG PDW), I am at $1350. Not a bad price at all but $350 is a big increase over what I was originally looking at and for that price I could buy a CMMG Banshee right now, which is arguably a better PCC. Certainly parts and mags will be cheaper and more available. The Scorpion and AK-V prices also start to look really attractive by comparison. Bottom line: I really wish PSA would start solidifying some info on these things sooner rather than later so I can decide where my money is best spent.

PSA tries to give people a some basic info, as asked, and customers respond by getting all pissy that they aren't getting all the info, right now, logistics and development process be damned. |

Other than the pics (which could just be different models) PSA hasn't released info on any of the above since the initial announcement. The price stuff is all from random posters guessing, afaik, not PSA. View Quote They don't announce this stuff to do us a favor, they announce it to generate buzz to increase their own profits. I understand if this was a bigger project than they planned and I understand that the AK-V issues set them back, but you can't expect that nobody will get "pissy" after almost two years of waiting! I am not asking them to release the thing tomorrow but some more info would really help. |

This reminds me of the Beretta ARX100 release - after being teased for 2 years - the public enthusiasm dwindled a bit and buyers move on and when it's finally released - the new product thrill has deteriorated. The MP5 is a little different as its truly an enigma firearm - but 2 years is a long tease.

With the political climate the way it is right now I’m afraid to wait. And the current market is proven. I don’t want to have to wait several months for PSA to get the kinks worked out and all that Jazz.

Their rep has been in this thread since the beginning saying it wouldn't be released until the fourth quarter of 2019. They still have a couple of months to bring it to the market and meet the timetable. I'm not holding my breath but it's a bit early to be throwing stones. This is coming from someone who has hurled them. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

im still praying and waiting for 4q19 for this to come to fruition.
PSA will have it out soon i know. I just hope i can get one. |

Just got back from shooting my full size MP5/PTR 9C. OK, this platform will put a smile on your face that lasts for hours. I might even still consider one of these PSA MP5’s in reverse stretch if they set it up for running with a silencer with a tri-lug barrel. Changes have to be made to the bolt in the really short MP5’s due to pressures. I certainly hope PSA takes this into consideration. I understand that there are some difficulties with the PTR reverse stretch models not using true HK style bolts and costing about $500 in HK parts to make them play nice with a can.

Hearing that it may not happen in Q4 2019 BUT because they're working on quality and cost reduction, I'm actually glad. But only somewhat selfishly... I've decided to put my $2500 that I planned to use to buy 2 PSA MP5's, towards a twin turbo kit for my truck in Q4/Q1.
For everyone else, I do hope the guns come out sooner rather than later AND as close to $1k as possible. |

Glad to hear it's in the pipe. Can't wait for a full-size, I always though if someone came out with one around $800-$1200 with a brace, they'd corner the market on 9mm carbines.

People need to just forget about this until it comes or buy something else. I knew from the start it wouldn't be out this year because that is how every other product launch goes. It just seems to be how it is in this industry.
Geissele announced the super duty rifles a long time ago and they are still not even out for the public yet (just law enforcement) and that is just an AR not something they have to tool up for and create. It is taking them months upon months to release a lego set, so i can see how this is taking PSA a long time. And to the people coming in being like "well they lost my business i got xxx"..... No one cares including PSA because when they do release them they wont be able to keep them in stock. Deal with it |

I really would love to build more PSA 1911s, and own more PSA factory 1911s, but i'm SOL it appears there.. sorry.. just venting a bit.. |
