Finally had a chance to see if I could get this challenge done. Now, I didn't shoot this on the copy of my test target since I forgot to bring it. 
I also read other posts that bash LaRue for not using 5-shot groups, like that would make a difference 
I decided to use 5-shot groups, and this is what I got. 
Sending my results in, hopefully I still qualify for the dillo!

Was going to wait until I could afford an optic as nice as the rifle before firing my new rifle, but I have no patience.

I have about 150 rounds through my 18" tOBR in 7.62. The group on the left was fired with a SOCOM 7.62 attached. The group on the right was fired unsuppressed. With an average of .683 it comes in under the .739 of my test target. I hope that I qualify for a Dillo!

Finally got some time to sight in and shoot the 5.56 tOBR 14.5".
This was the best group with PMC bronze 55gr. 
It was close to outshooting The Shootist but not quite. Frankly, I was kinda amazed with the results using relatively cheap PMC bronze. Then I broke out the good stuff: Black Hills 77gr SMK and this was the best group with the good stuff. 
Both the 7.62 and 5.56 tOBRs are amazing. |

Just another day at the office…beating up my "beater" barrel
- 100 yards - Hot as hell…. 
- 16" 7.62 FieldGrade Barrel - OBR Platform First two, 3-shot groups… - Hornady A-Max Tap Precision 168 gr 
Before leaving the range…decided to load 4 rounds (3 shot group, don't like bolt locking back on last round of group) of Sierra Gold Medal Match 168 gr and see what she'll do…and she did! Can't wait to get my hands on one of them, there "MG" barrels...

I believe this is my first post, seems appropriate for all the time I have spent following this particular forum as I waited for my PredatOBR (.223 - 16"). I took five copies of the test target to a range I frequent. It isn't the best range for bench shooting, the benches are nice but you shoot through a clearing (very sunny today) and then down a path in a heavily wooded area into a backstop that is just over 140 yards away. Your targets are located in the shade and not easy to see so I used a pencil to shade the squares in my test target copies. I was shooting Federal Match 77g factory ammunition on the test targets. Of the five, two of the targets passed the test (the Shootist wasn't having his best day based on my test target) while the other three failed. Here goes:

Today wasn't my day. Had a decent cross wind gusting from 5 to 12 mph. Best group I could manage was .595 and the test target is .535. Now I need to find an indoor 100 yard range and get some more Federal gold Medal. |

This isn't an easy task. Made it to an indoor range and here is the best I could do.   This is a work rifle and normally has an Aimpoint resting on top. But if it needs to step up, it sure has the capability. ETA: Here is picture of my tAR from Wednesday's range trip. It really likes the Federal Gold Medal and the Barnes TSX, Winchester duty ammo not so much.  |
