| I orderd a 20inch varminter upper and the site said 4-8 week wait but then i get the email comfirming and saying that rifles/uppers have a 10-12 week wait? is this true? |

Complete rifles get a higher priority...throw a lower on the order and you might get it a week or two sooner. Oddly enough, I was more anxious after four weeks then I am now. I've had time to load up a lot of ammo, buy my tactical scope, ordered my Aimpoint for it today, a bunch of mags and am waiting on some BUIS...oops, forgot to mention the versa-pod that is sitting here as well and of course a big box of tissues. |

Hey 99LR, Saw your tag. I got a 96 disco that I have lifted, tweaked and beefed up that I've had for 10 years and still love it after 160,000 miles. I wish we had the opportunities to off-roading like your state does. ...would've done this IM, but you have that opinion off. |

Does anybody know what the wait time is on complete rifles at this time? I ordered a standard A4 from Pete going on 7 weeks now. The wait with no feedback is tough. Fortunately I came across a RRA stripped lower and bought a LPK, buttstock kit, and a midlength A2 upper from Pete, he had the upper in stock. So at least I have something to play with but I really want the 20" flat-top. Is RRA catching up or falling further behind? Ron |

It depends on the build..,but we're trying to stay fairly close to one another amongst the models for their current build dates. Eight to twelve weeks is still pretty common average shipping time, but some (more now than a few weeks ago)are getting out sooner than the lower figure, and, unfortunately, as few (less than previously) are taking longer than the higher figure. That's the way of averages. Steve/RRA |
Can I ask a stupid question? Is RRA projecting an drop-off or slowdown of demand in the future? The reason I ask is, if demand has remained at this high level for a while now, wouldn't it be smart to increase production capacity in order to satisfy demand. I would imagine that RRA has lost sales due to impatient buyers not willing to wait. It only makes sense not to expand manufacturing if you project a leveling off or drop-off in the near future. |

Production has ramped upwards several times over the past 10 months. We've gotten to a point that is allowing us to catch up a bit...but it takes time when you're behind. Because every order is built to order, we have always been a 2-3 week lead time operation, minimum. Steve/RRA |
The RRA backlog has cost at least 3 rifle sales to me in just the last 6 months. |
Steve, thanks for the reply. I guess my impatience is showing. When I ordered my standard A4, 7 weeks ago tomorrow, Pete told me that RRA was running about 5-6 weeks behind. Having passed the original estimate and reading that it may be more like 10-12 weeks is disappointing. On the plus side, the KISS rifle I just built from a RRA mid-length A2 upper, RRA LPK & buttstock, and RRA stripped lower is a lot of fun. I broke it in at the range on Sat with 40 rounds of Federal XM193, 20 rounds of Federal .223, 40 rounds of Wolf MC and 20 rounds of Wolf black box, all 55gr. Strangely, accuracy was the best with the Federal .223 55gr FMJBT and the Wolf MC. My friend has a build with an Armalite upper, EA lower, and RRA LPK and it short strokes with all Wolf and even the Federal .223. Thanks for building quality products/parts that will shoot anything. Ron P.S. I guess everybody is stocking up before the 2008 election, just in case. I would love to see the total monthly sales of AR-15s across all vendors :) |

Order check - Ordered mid-June 18" Varmint, picked up at FFL yesterday....range this weekend. It is work the wait, especially when you get something not of the vanilla variety. And never having held or seen one in person, this thing is a beaut. On par with my old AR10-T that's for sure. The scope has been mounted, the bipod is on, the Turner black NM strap is on and adjusted, I'm ready. |

More 458s are goig out this week, with more in a couple more weeks. A new order is probbaly looking ant a couple/few months as the current backlog clears and we can get them into a regular order/production schedule rather than batching them.
