Hey ADCO guys. I have a Springfield 1911A1 that I added a beavertail to not long ago and decided to paint the frame a coyote tan. The frame was originally blued and I just painted over the blueing, but the paint is pretty crappy and starting to chip. Do you guys do reblueing and how much would a stripped 1911 frame cost?
Also do you guys do any gunsight work. I'd like to throw a set of novak sights on there as well.

Thanks

We can do the sights, but we don't Re-Blue. We can park it, or KG Gunkote it.

Ya know what I screwed up it is parkerized. The frame was originally the same finish as the slide, which is parkerized. I don't know why I was thinking blued. What am I looking at cost wise to park the frame and cut the slide for sights?

This is what I have. I would probably have to send the spring housing and beavertail along with it for park as well so everything would match. I was going to try and just use some acetone and see if I could remove the paint first, but I wasn't sure what that would do to the parkerized finish underneath. Any thoughts?

You won't hurt the Parkerization with Acetone. Re-park runs basically $50 per piece, so your whole pistol would be $100 (Just frame $50, Just slide $50), if you disassemble and send just the pieces. For us to dis/re-assemble for re-park is $50 whole pistol, $25 per section (frame, Slide). We can dovetail for sights, but i will have to get with the Shop to work up a price. Thanks.

I have a Springfield that you may be seeing in the near future.
What about the small parts?... The beavertail, safety, slide release, hammer, main spring housing, and mag catch. How much do you think the whole thing would run?

It is blued from the factory, and it just doesn't have the weather resistance I really need.

Seawolf:
I talked to the Shop, it is expensive. Would run $85 for us to do it. But, Steve tells me, that if you buy the sights from Novak and send them the Slide, they will install them, VERY resonaably. I would check with them. Sorry, but i was not paying attention before (happens sometimes) if you want all your small parts done, then it runs another $50 (do to the time to prep each little piece). Sorry.

M4builder:
Entire pistol w/all small parts, runs $150. See dis/re-assemble costs above.

No prob Doc and thanks for the info. I think trijicon makes a drop in sight for the Mil Spec 1911 but Im not certain on that. I'm going to try acetone first and if it looks like that wont do the trick I may send it in to you guys and see what you can do. Thanks again for the advice.

I wanted to revisit this for a second because I tried to strip the paint with acetone and it turned out a mess. It looks salvagable with a little blasting and repark, but I completely screwed the pooch.

If I send what's pictured here to be reparked how much will it cost me including the beavertail and the mainspring housing and what process do you use to strip it? Nobody around here can beed blast for me at a reasonable price so that's why i am considering sending it to you guys. If you can recommend a good 1911 shop to send it to I am all ears as well, but I would rather give you guys my business.

Here is a pic of my masterpiece after the acetone bath. lol Try not to laugh too hard.

Looks like the paint held pretty good. Yes,  we can blast and re-park, she'll look damn near new. Cost would be $50 plus shipping.

I put my order in today for the repark on the frame and two parts. Will you guys include the beavertail safety and mainspring housing in the $50 price or will those two parts be added separately?  You should recieve everything at the beginning of next week. Thanks again.
