Alright I went to put on a Magpul enhanced trigger guard on my 6920 and the rear pin just will not budge, I have done a bunch of these things but never had one as tight as this and I DO NOT want to crack the lower receiver. I soaked it with Break free and will let it sit overnight.., any suggestions or tricks?
Thanks in advance |

I may be an armorer, but it's not worth breaking an ear off. Very frustrating. I'll just have to get a Gapper or tango down grip to get rid of the gap. |

In the past when this has happened to me, I've taken off the guard from the front side push pin, so the only thing holding it on is the problematic roll pin, then just played around with it moving it back and forth to "loosen" the roll pin a bit. I still had to hammer it pretty hard to get the roll pin out, but one she started moving, it wasn't too hard to get out.

Drove mine out with a nail punch. You heathen... Take it back. Say it isn't so. You didn't use a nail punch on your Colt! ![]() Yes I did. aga7040 can back me up on this. You just have to let that roll pin know who the boss is. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Maybe you can apply a little heat to the ear? Use a solder gun or something. When you heat up the ears, they would expand a little and then you can try to punch out the roll pin.
Those roll pins were made so that they will go into a slightly smaller hole then their diameter and then they would "spring back" i.e. exerting forces on to the surface that they were punched into. |
| Well I finally got back to the trigger guard and letting it soak with lube a few days made a world of difference.....she tapped right out and the magpul is on, probably should have reused the Colt pin because the magpul rollpin was really tight! Thanks for the advice and inspiration. |

Thanks for the advice and inspiration. Nice! Glad you got it swapped out brother Had I seen this thread sooner I would have suggested spraying both sides with Kroil and letting it sit for a bit...but it looks like you figured that out on your own |

Jeeze, that's one job that gives me the cold sweats. Built an A1 clone with the junky plastic triggerguard that came with an otherwise OK LPK. Decided to replace it with a correct gray one, and just about talked myself out of it after reading on here about breaking an ear. I have a two-digit NoDak that it would piss me off to break...got it done without a problem.
