Just picked up a 6940, very happy with the way it shoots. Dont really care for the rear sight, (I'll never shoot 600yrds w/out optics) Otherwise very happy how Colt improved the line.
Only real issue, and was woundering if any one else noticed this; The Butt stock looks and feels like it came out of the mold and went right on the rifle. It's full of sharp cast lines. Has anyone else had this issue with a colt stock? I own several other brands, Bushmaster, Ruger and aftermarket replacements and never ran into this. Do you tthink Colt would replace If I bitched enough?

I don't have a 6940 (yet) but my latest 6721 carbine that I picked up last March had the same rough mold flash.
Since it's probably just a minor condition for their quality standards, I agree with the others that Colt might only take it back if it doesn't work at all. With my new stock I just used a sharp model knife, file and fine sand paper over the rough edges and smooth them up. I used my original stock one time only just to test my carbine then I replaced it with a Magpul CTR stock which virtually have no movement with the buffer tube. |

Thanks for all the replies!!
Been looking for an excuse to grab a Magpul stock, guess I just found one! Just little surprised that alittle extra time at the factory would have cleaned it up. Owell, dont feeling like fightin' w/em, (realistically) such a minor thing. The rifle does shoot great. "HONEY, I need the credit card"
