Hi There, I know y'all got your hands full with the .308 and .458 rifles. Will you be producing any uppers or rifles in the 6.8SPC? Thanks, Jim M. |
Dammit! I just finished my 6.8 mutt! I havn't been able to shoot it yet though because I recieved the wrong bolt and had to send it back. I wound up having to use a 9mm Vortex flashhider because Model 1 must have specified E.R. Shaw to thread the barrel to 1/2-36 rather than 5/8-24 which is what seems to be more along the lines of standard for this caliber. ![]() I'll just wait and see how it works I guess. I am a little skeptical. If it does I might just be in the market for a 6.8 in 16 inch version anyways. |
Steve, Thanks for clearing this up. This is GREAT news! I like your products and was hoping for a RRA 6.8 offering. |
I just hope you guys don't go overboard, and dilute the quality and service you have going by trying to provide something for everyone, and offering 87 dozen varieties of half-assed rifle rather than a bunch of rock-solid shooters. |

We won't. If you'll notice what we're doing, besides the .308 project, the other calibers we're planning on doing are minor changes from what we've always done. We're not getting into exotic variants that require large quantities of different parts/assembly/knowledge. The 458s and the 6.8 require very few new parts, no significant new technology, and will generally take the same accessories as we already stock/use. Steve |

Steve , Glad to hear 6.8 is on its way. Just to give a little input. I would love to see it available in the 20" Stainless barrels. It would also be nice if the twist allowed to for std 115 grain and heavier bullets. As people reload some might want to experiment with different bullets. Also on a side note, I was very impressed with the new catalog. It looks like a lot of time was spent on it. I know more options will be available as time goes by. It would be nice to have contour options (gov. profile) on more of the barrels. Thanks and God bless, Stephen |
| See this is the great thing about the weapon system in general. We've got folks anxiously awaiting 20 and 24" stainless barrels, others looking forward to deer season, and I see it as a perfect step up for a CQB platform and want to build an M4 in 6.8. Steve, I would love my 6.8 to be another RRA I just need y'all to save me from geting impatient and plunking down the cash for the Barrett.-Keith |
How long might it be before there migh be any options for barrels? I hate the M4, and it seems like a waste to put a short barrel on a 6.8. 18 inches seems to be the sweet spot, at least if I understand the ballistics tables I have seen. Thanks, Matthew P.S. In the ARFCom tradition, you are forcing me to get both: A .458 and 6.8! IMHO, RRA is now the top of the heap in AR's. |

Only 458 and 6.8? I haven't put you over the edge into a 308 yet? Like I said, nothing is set in stone yet. Mid gas system on an 18" bbl sounds like it could be fun, especially as a varmint rifle. That 110gr VMAX would certainly tear up a ground hog at a couple hundred yards. Steve/RRA |
I still have some concerns about the .308, although I'm sure RR has that fixed. Please, please please make the 18" available the first time around, I need one before the revolution! |
