I need a can that will allow me to use my Glock 17 with Trijicon HD sights w/ an unobstructed view AND use a surefire X300U weapon light, while offering the best sound suppression and not being obnoxiously large. I was doing some research and it would seem that the AAC Illusion 9 would be the best solution for this. I really wanted a Osprey 9, but it would seem that it is incompatible with a surefire X300 on a G17 and it also still obstructs the sight picture more than I'd like (based on pictures... I'm not entirely certain). My questions are as follows:
1) Are there any other cans that fit my above listed needs that I should be looking into? Perhaps the Surefire Ryder 9mm? It seems lightweight and low profile and is compatible w/ the X300 on a G17. 2) Would switching over to a G34 fix my problem regarding the X300U weapon light and Osprey 9 compatibility issue? I was thinking about picking up a G34 anyways and figured that it may be a viable solution. Any insight regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
| The AAC Illusion 9 is the only silencer that you can use factory height sights with. It will still obscure some of the site picture but it is very usable. On the light side of things it doesn't hang low enough to make the light use able but it will block the upper part of the beam just like any silencer. |
