| Would an A1 Buttstock be available as a no-cost alternate for one one your rifles that comes standard with an A2 buttstock? |
|
I've often wondered why a manufacturer didn't tool up and produce new A1 stocks. It doesn't look like it would be too difficult to a casual observer. I use them on all of my weapons that don't have a collapsable stock. Does anyone else feel there is a demand for new A1 stocks or has the large number and types of collapsable stock avalability killed it? |
| I wish someone would make a GI quality stock with a length of pull of 12 1/4"-12 3/8". I definitely prefer a fixed stock but the RRA "shorty" is way too short and really even a A1 is too long. I have a Sully on order, but I think it looks a little goofy with the longer buttpad in place. |

It despens on what stock you have. If you have one of our collapsible stocks and you're going to have to remove the extension, then yes, you will need to heat up the nut and the area immediately around it to loosen the Loc-tite that s there (just get it tacky enough to remove, you don't have to try to burn it away). If you have a rifle receiver extension, it isn't going to require heat on the thread at the receiver, but the thread lock compound on the top (buttplate) screw may benefit froma little heat to get it to unscrew without turning the extension in the receiver.
