After hearing so many people complain about the AFG-1 wings, I just had to say that I love them on my Daniel Defense Lite rail, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They fit perfectly underneath the XTMs on the side rails, and don't interfere with anything that I have mounted either. I especially like how they flow smoothly right up under the XTMs to give a continuous uninterrupted gripping surface. So, I think it was an ingenious design on an ingenious product. Thanx Magpul. I agree, I have a Lite rail as well. In fact it would be even better if they extended the wings along the full length of the AFG. Oh well |

I'm pretty sure it still works that way...and gives him a slightly longer sight radius. Exactly (I'm used to to very long sight radius rifles used in ISSF rifle competitions, so I almost feel every quater of inch of sight radius for ironsights). Plus adds some space for thumb for 12o'clock grip. Mounting front sight backwards is decribed and allowed by MBUS user manual. It's only rear sight that should not be mounted backwards |

It's only rear sight that should not be mounted backwards I know, i had mine like that on my carbine until I switched to a piston system (had to get a metal front sight to keep it from melting). People always used to ask me if I knew it was on backwards.

Nice pictures. Mine fits fine on my DD Omega cabine rail as well with XT and XTM covers. It's odd you say that because I had to trim mine down to fit. I also had to trim the right front side of the AFG on a DD 12" Omega Rail to use XTM panels. Oddly, the left side of the AFG did not require trimming to use the XTM panels on the Omega. |
