| I have a RRA Predator with a 20" barrel. What is the best grain bullet to shoot ? Been shooting American Eagle 55 gr. works great so far. Can I shoot steel case in it or will it harm the feed ramp ? What about the laquer will it harm it? |

We recommend AGAINST any steel -cased ammo. Te few cents in saving s aren't worth both the real and potential downside for your rifle's continued function.
You have a 1:8 twist, so it should shoot heavier projectiles as well or better thna the 55s you have been using. Try some 68/69gr and see how they do. You can go as high as the 75 and 77 gr loads, but many of them would have t be single loaded off of asingle shot follower as they don't fit the magazine. Steve/RRA |

Not my best grouping bit it will do. The space between the 2 and 3 round grouping is my heart beat. Sounds funny but it changes my point of aim/impact by 1/2" if my timing is out.
I only ever shoot brass through my PP. I leave the steel case to my Mini 14/30's http://www.gunstuff.co.nz/thumbnail.php?pic=uplimg/img_A_109444_06d1c4f1b6edef27ca4b773ac344b415.jpg&w=500&sq=N&b=N |

I tried black hills loadings until I found bullets that shot well out of mine. The 55g AE are a bulk type ammo and while they shoot, they are not a match type ammo.
I found that the 50g Vax shot great. The 68g hpbt grouped slightly larger than the 50g. I hand load 60 g vmax and 60g sierra hp. The 60Vmax was the honey for my rifle. Rifle was a RRA 18" varmint. I woud figure that yours should shoot near the same since it is also a 1/8 twist. The best two groups I got were 3/8 in at 100 yds - bipod and sandbag under the butt. Love the RRA 2 stage trigger :-) I have my eye on a coyote special for the slight weight savings....or maybe a 6.8 to play with or maybe/prob both. |
