Tighten it down with the castle nut wrench.  Unless you are using a wrench that is fully enclosed, it shouldn't be an issue.

It's the half moon wrench. I got about a 1/4" turn and now it wont catch it any  more.

I had to angle my stock wrench a little bit to get it to work.  And you can only turn the castle nut a small distance each turn.

My experiences mirror yours depending on the wrench I'm using. I've got a larger wrench that I don't have to angle, but that may be because its slightly bent from being used so much.

I've installed 4 of them, I use a wrench I got from spikes, a multi wrench. I've never had an issue. Proper tools and all...

Just don't ask me how to stake it lol

No no I kid, I got a better tool for that now too and man is it easy!

Just put mine on tonight with a half moon wrench that only had one tooth.  Also ran into the same problem.  I had to angle the wrench and do the best that I could.  It's on tight.  Tomorrow I'm gonna go buy a decent punch so I can stake the thing.  Ain't takin' no chances!!!

The right tools really help when tinkering with guns.  Doesn't have to be a spikes but a stock wrench will save you frustration, just like an autopunch will

I've used the Rock River Arms wrench on a lot of builds I've done.  Even used it for removing staked castle nuts as well.  They are durable and cheap!

That ST wrench looks good too with the extra leverage.

yea they are good to go.. I love my spikes wrench.

Note: I did rush and end up bending one installing a asap plate..but that was just me being a complete moron and not paying attention..so dont worry if you do it right you will NOT have a problem.

Also the super small/cheap single hook style castle nut wrench worked very well with the ASAP plate install since it was small enough to get a good turn in before adjusting again.
