Is there any real good reason for saving extra money for a comp3 or comp4 rather than going this a T1 or H1 and save some weight on the gun and get a better field of view.  I'm sure I can figure out  how to chance a battery every 5 yrs instead of getting to wait 8 years.  Not planning in doing any SCUBA down to 5 atmospheres with my midlength.  I know this has been beat to death in other places, but I value the Pack opinion,

I think it's all about your current needs and budget. That sounds lame and cliche but it's true. For example, I would love a T1 but will I ever be able to afford night vision gear. If I can afford that shit, I can afford a little extra for a T1. Today those $50-$100 I save on an H1 over a T1 can translate into ammo and trigger time if not also some other accessory(ies). And even if I had night vision, when would I use it? I'm not a soldier on a battlefield. I'm just some dude who likes a hobby that's too expensive for him to afford but does it anyway. Will battery life ever be a concern for me? Probably not; I'm sure I'll have access to other batteries when I need them. Sure the higher tier Aimpoint optics have more going on but they're constructed to provide those benefits to people that have a use for them. I have an ML2 that rides on top of my pistol 'cause I scored it on the cheap; otherwise, I'd say a T1 would look great sitting on top. it? Don't be afraid to shop within your current budget for your current needs. That's the logical way to look at it.

Would be cool to have a T1, though...

I own several comp3 and comp4s and one M4 and I love Aimpoints. I recently started to lighten my patrol rifle so I ordered a T1 in a LaRue 100% co-wit mount.

My upper gets back from ADCO today (getting contoured) and I'll be mounting the T1 and getting it to the range this week.

I'm interested in seeing the difference between the smaller tube of the T1 over the other Aimpoints that I've grown accustom to over the past 10+ years.

I was convinced by Pat at an EAG course this summer that the T1 was the way to go so I made the purchase off trusting his evaluation and my limited experience with the optic.

If it doesn't function the same it will come off my patrol rifle and go onto a gun that is relegated to zombie duties.....

I'll try to post my conclusion.

What distances do you plan to shoot to? I have a Comp4 and really like the 2 MOA dot because it lets me shoot clay pigeons at 200 yds with ease. However the gun I have it on is a 14.5 Noveske that I use in a indoor league shoot that is 25 yds and less. I am actually thinking of switching to a T1 instead because of this. In my mind it will be easier to get the dot on target with a 4 MOA dot instead of a 2 MOA dot.

So what are you going to use you rifle for? Indoors or 50 yds and less? Or outdoors where you can shoot 50 yds and greater?

ETA: I had a CompM2 a couple years ago and did not like shooting 100yds+ with the 4 MOA dot it had.

Most of the time it would be 50 and less.  Some shots out to 100, but not the norm.  It will be for 3 gun, HD and other fun.  I have an ACOG on a QD I can put on if I need to take longer shots.    I think the weight savings alone makes me want the micro.

It sounds like the T1 is the way to go them. The only other down side I can think of is the smaller diameter, but as long as you shoot both eyes open you should be GTG.

Odd shooting positions will make a m3 nicer to have over a t1.

I should clarify that most outdoor shooting I do is with clay pigeons. So, I had a difficult time hitting a clay pigeon or other small objects with a 4 MOA dot because it was too big. That being said a proficient shooter should be able to hit center mass with a 4 MOA dot out to at least 300 yds if not more.

Love the 2 MOA dot on my ML3...

From what I have been reading, with the intensity turned down, the dot is a little smaller than 4moa.  I don't usually shoot anything smaller than center mass, so the dot shouldn't be a problem.  I've had an Eotech for 3-4 years, I think I'm ready to try something different.

i've been eyballing a T-1/H-1 for the durability.  after the demo from the aimpoint guy @ Range day, pitching it about 25-30yds on that rocky ground & it bouncing a few times, then putting it back on & ringing steel, i was sold!    not that I would do that to mine, but it's good to know that if you're running around & drop it, well, it maybe dinged, but it'll still be on.
