Sorry for adding to the metric crap ton of Daniel Defense BCG threads (I guess if they're talking about you, you're doing something right!), but I've got a question I can't quite find a confirmed answer to: What exactly is the "extractor booster?"
Does this mean 5-coil spring (black insert)? Crane O-Ring? Everything I read about your BCG's is top notch from the M16 large spool firing pins to the low profile laser engraving, but this question has been bugging me for awhile, now.
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I've searched the internets far and wide and have found nothing conclusive. Thanks, guys!

(But seriously, take your time if needed...or if this is confidential information).

I was shocked to see the large spool m16 firing pin in my bcg but mine did not comes with any o-ring just the spring and insert.

Im trying to debate getting a o-ring

What color insert and how many coils were in the spring, if you don't mind me asking

If it's the black insert with 5 coiled spring, I don't think you need the O-ring, but at the same time I don't think it'd hurt it.

ETA: oh, and how recently did you purchase the BCG? Thanks!

yep black insert with what looked like a 5 coil spring, and i purchased about 3 weeks ago from rainier arms

this is on a 10.5" so thats why im debating the O-ring

This is exactly what I want to hear! Thanks for that bit of information. Hopefully a DD rep can confirm your findings.

Have you been having any extraction problems with your 10.5? I think people have said that the O-ring isn't needed unless you're having extraction issues, but I completely see where you're coming from with a more violent gas system like that.

i actually havent taken it out to shoot it yet, and i will before doing anything, i just know most seem to think the O-ring is needed

i will say the actual BCG is very nice though, i especially liked the M16 firing pin

I had to use the O-ring on a Bravocompany BCG with the DD 10.3" barrel.  Did have extraction issues, and the O-ring solved the problem.

Confirmed, 5 coils spring with black insert in our BCG's.

Good information all around! Thanks for the confirmation A-C-I.

And sinlessorrow, thanks for the help, and looks like you got your diagnosis for your problem before you even have it
Hopefully it's without problems.

Is there a reason for not including an O-ring?

With a correct 5-coil spring, the o-ring isn't needed.
