Do you have to mount the rail sections where you wish before you install the rail? Please excuse me if its a noob question but I'm not seeing how to install the rail segments now that the rail itself is mounted to my Colt. Help please...

Couple options: 1. You could remove the rail & install the rail sections, suggest placing a locator/marker with a ziptie for reference. 2. Separate the Upper from Lower, remove BCG, & any other QD items to remove weight . . . . . Then the balancing act ;) . . . - degrease the screws/threads - place the rail sections and tape around the center of the rail, do not cover holes, to keep them in place. Blue Painters tape or masking tape - Slide the back plates and fine adj. with a small tool/punch/q tip to align the backers - have a screw on the proper bit, slowly thread try to align * Once the first one is in its easier to screw line up the second, Once secure you can take one out at a time & degrease/loctite.
