Looking to pick up a larue BUIS and I'm wondering if you could explain the same plane aperture to me. I'm familiar with the a2 aperture and I'm just wondering the difference. Also, what applications would the same plane be appropriate for? Do I want it?

Thanks for your time, and great products.

Same-plane apertures are designed with both large and small apertures sharing the same centerline (one hole is just larger than the other, in the same spot).

Some rear iron-sights are designed with the smaller aperature slightly higher than the larger, to accomodate the longer shots you would generally take using the smaller aperature (beyond 300 meters). Those sights are typically marked with an "L" near the smaller hole.

Hope that helps.
