| Has anyone who got a Bul M5 when Aim had them available had issues with failures to feed? Mine had issues feeding with the stock mag, so I had thought the mag was bad. I bought a para mag and modified it to fit and it is even worse. I tore the pistol down and cleaned it, and tried again with the two mags. The para mag is useless and the mag that came with the pistol will not feed if the pistol is fired slowly, yet if it is rapidly fired it feeds fine now. Any ideas? |

Mine has run well so far, even with the modified para magazines... I did just replace the recoil spring with a Wolff one this weekend and haven't tested it yet, but hopefully no issues.
Questions: You say "if it is rapidly fired it feeds fine now." So it wasn't feeding fine with rapid fire before? How many rounds have you put through it? What kinds of ammo? Do you fully load the magazines each time, or have you tried loading them halfway and seeing if the jams follow? Does the FTF ever happen on the first round, or is it always subsequent rounds? Do you ever get a FTE, or is it always a FTF? It's either a mechanical problem with the gun or a mechanical problem with your hold on the gun. The latter doesn't cost much money to check, and if it were me I'd take it out again and consciously focus on crushing the frame with my grip while shooting slowly, and see if it continues. |
| When it fed fine rapidfire I was pretty much like screw it and stopped trying to shoot the bullseye and just shot at the backstop. It has had 50rds of 124 gr aguila and 50rds of 115gr federal fmj since I got it. I have tried different amounts loaded with no effect. It's always a ftf but not necessarily the first round. My grip is fine I think I tried to limp wrist it on purpose and it was the same. I'm wondering now after trying it again today if the feed ramp is to shallow or the feed lips on the magazines are too tight since rounds are hitting the feed ramp and not feeding. |
| Issues solved, I bought p18 mags on sale from Cdnn that were supposed to be 20rd factory magazines but apparently para doesn't make 20rd mags. I played with the mags and decided there wasn't enough spring tension. I added a spacer inside the mag body and now the pistol feeds fine. Apparently these mags are standard 17rd mags with a baseplate stuck on them but no new springs installed. |
