Does your fluting depth vary? , according to how much depth is available or is it all
the same .i.e. a .750 7.62 barrel vs. a .875 7.62 barrel vs. a 1.050 7.62 barrel.

Also,Is it okay to convert a 20" barrel to a mid length gas? Are there any negative
results.I would love one day to suppress the rifle. Also concerned about possibility
of overgassing causing wear or more recoil?

Fluting depth varies according to barrel diameter. Gotta stay safe ya know.

Yes, it is ok to convert, but yes, recoil will increase slightly. As for wear, we have seen no increase.

Could you make the gas port a little smaller to help or no?
OR, would 18" be better on the recoil side, I think the dpms sass is like this?

The recoil of a Mid is naturally going to be more than a Rifle, just as CAR is more then Mid and Pistol is more than CAR. The shorter the gas system, the higher the gas impulse pressure for a given ammo. Just the nature of the beast.

That said, the difference in felt recoil between Mid and Rifle is still pretty slight.

Edit: Barrel length has nothing to do with recoil. Except in the fact that more weight means extra mass to act against felt recoil. But yes, 18" barrel will work fine with a Rifle gas system.
