Figured I'd post this here, since nobody seems to know in the other two technical forums I posted this in.
So I picked up a 16" BCM hammer forged barrel w/upper about 3 months ago. I was able to finally get it out yesterday and was having a severe issue getting it dialed in at 50 yards. The optic was a Burris 1x4 in a Larue mount. Well the groups were approximately 5-6 inches at 50 yards using Black Hills 62gn TSX which are like a laser out of the other upper I have and is the exact same upper as the one listed above, but 14.5 instead of the 16. After I ruled out the optic and mount, I broke the rifle down and looked through the bore and noticed that there were chips in the chrome lining where the grooves in the barrel meet the chamber. Could this potentially be where my issue is coming from? I just bought some BH vmax and matchkings to hopefully rule out the ammo issue at the end of this week. Any info is appreciated. |
