So I am looking at the Battlecomp for my new tAR, and I am wondering what your opinions would be about the Battlecomp 2.0 or would something work better?

Works well.. if you plan on mounting a suppressor then your choices are very limited.

the battle comp 2.0 is a wonderful muzzle device!

Great for daytime use, but ridiculous muzzle flash for nighttime shooting.

Work better for what? If you want to use it for something like competition style shooting you'd be better off with the SJC Titan or Rolling Thunder.

Fair point.  On a 10.5" SBR, the muzzle flash is obscene.  On a 16" with xm-193 and PMC the muzzle flash is ridiculous IME.

I'm waiting for a BABC to arrive in the mail as we speak.  I'm gonna mount it on my 18" OBR heavy.  Marty over at Battlecomp is an awesome dude by the way!

I love mine, I run them on all my AR rifles. are you going to run a suppressor? the only difference between the 1.0 and the 2.0 is the suppressor compatibility of the 2.0. If you are not going to run one then go with the 1.0 and save a little money

I have found m-193 is obnoxious in everything Not really known has having much in the way of flash inhibitors in the powder.

I have one on a 12" Stealth upper and I really like it... Hardly any muzzle climb or felt recoil.

However, I have had reports from folks shootin on either side of me that they don't care much for the increased volume or concussion from it... I've had folks get up and move a few benches down.

I think it really depends on what your lookin for..

If your doing a lot of night shooting, you might be better off with something else.  If 90+% daytime, I think your good.

Or if you want to add a Suppressor...

If I was to go with something else, I think it would be the Surefire Brake. Hard to beleive, but I think it has even less Muzzle Climb than the BC 2.0

I am going to be doing mostly daytime shooting not much at night. I am night blind. I am looking more for everyday shooting and possibly attaching a suppressor after I move out of CA cause you can't have one here. I am worried about muzzle flip for me since I am female and don't have a lot of upper body strength to help me hold it better.

Thank you all for your help. This is great information and I appreciate all of the advise and I am looking a couple different ones now and might have to try before I buy. I really need something to help me out when it comes in for me.

I'll throw in another vote for te Spikes DynaComp, I have them on my Stealth and Spike s rifles.

Almost eliminates muzze climb, it's slightly louder than the A2, doesn't do shit for reducing muzzle flash but it's a hell of a good comp.

I installed a BC 1.5 on my 16" Stealth, and I love it!

There have been times at a local indoor range where, when I get rolling along on a "string" (2-second pause), and the barrel starts getting hot, I'll get the occasional louder / brighter shot.  Haven't had people move away from me, though...

I have no issues with muzzle climb, but I guess if you take into account that I've been shooting rifles with A2 birdcages all my shooting life, that would be expected.

I know I know.....I am going to keep TX as a retirement place, it gives me something to look forward to. I will just keep saving and getting property here in CA so when I leave I will cash in and retire in the good life

How does the BC2.0 compare to the SureFire muzzle brake, think its the 211C?

I have both the 2.0 and the BABC.  I've shot the Surefire (several models) and appreciate all of them however...I don't use a suppressor so it's Battlecomp ALL THE WAY for me. If I were going to use a suppressor, there is no better choice than a Surefire adapter for your can and rifle hands down!! (both Surefire and BC hold their value if you ever sell them to swap for another ..FYI)

If you don't ever plan on attaching a suppressor, shop for a compensator/ brake, etc. that is dedicated to ONLY those functions.  It may save you some money and your overall length may be shorter.  It was addressed up top somewhere (and it's not an issue relevant to your question) but I'll just say that these are not flash hiders, they are a compensator/ brake and meant to reduce felt recoil and muzzle climb not hide the flash.

The BC does a great job of reducing the muzzle climb and felt recoil but in particular (by design) it sends the concussion of the blast out to the sides where someone shooting next to you might feel a crisp pop from it.  This has never concerned me, I usually just grin when they get that look on their face after you fire off a few rounds and they were a little too close to you.

*Note*  PWS and Spikes makes good stuff if your budget will not allow a Surefire or BC purchase (not saying they are cheaper but they have less expensive options). Sometimes 50 bucks difference is better spent elsewhere.

ETA and to sum it up:  If I had $100 to spend on something that would get me by until I got a can, it would be a Spikes Dynacomp.  If I had $150 I'd get the BC 2.0.  If I knew I were getting a Surefire can, I'd be shopping for a Surefire adapter.

I am running a handful of department guns with BC's to see if they are a good fit for duty.  I have run about 2k with one so far on the rifle I just put it on.  We have another 10k so on another rifle and I will set up a third one next week.  We are doing the same with PWS comps.  I have personally put AAC compensators, blackouts, breakouts, PWS, Miculek  Comp, smith Vortex, and a few other competition style comps on my own rifles.

The Battle comp helps with muzzle rise, based on the feedback from my officers and my own experience the muzzle rise reduction was noticeable. The BC has more noise than an A2 but not as much noise/concussion as the AAC comp, PWS, Miculek, or Titans.  The flash is a lot better than the the true compensators (competition ones) and about on par with the PWS. The BC as pretty close to an A2 when shooting in about 80 percent darkness.  The competition style comps generally let out a ridiculous amount of flash. The PWS is slightly better at muzzle rise but a lot louder.

This is my experience based using these with multiple Colt 6920s, Noveske Afgans, and BCM middys.

So far I like mine on my patrol rifle, but I am not 100% sold on it for LE use.  I will have a better idea after a few more night shoots in, shoot house runs and confined space work.
